Blondie Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2003
Very addictive! I did reduce the amount of sugar to 1/2 cup and added chocolate chips to replace the nuts. Thanks for sharing.

Easy Guacamole

This was ok. I wouldn't add as much onion next time as it is quite strong!

American Lasagna

EXCELLENT! I changed the amount of sugar from 2 tablespoons to 1 Tbsp as mentioned by some of the other reviewers and it turned out perfect! Will definately be making again, thanks for sharing.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2003
Very nice soup. One thing I changed in the recipe was the ham bone. I boiled the bone by itself for 1 1/2 hours before adding the rest of the ingredients. It added alot of flavour. Next time I make this I will omit the potatoes and add 1 clove of garlic. Makes LOTS of soup, will probably scale to 1/2 next time.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2003
These are fantastic! The turned out perfect and were very high. I didn't scale the recipe however instead of using a 12 cup muffin tin I used an oversized 6 cup tin and they were nice and large. Flavour is wonderful! Thank you for sharing I will definately be making these again.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2003
I scaled this for two servings. The flavour was good but it was quite rich so I probably wouldn't make it all the time. The pork chops were very moist and tender. The only thing I changed was use 1 packet of OXO chicken boullion to the water to make "chicken broth".

Challah II

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2003
The bread was pretty good although my mistake was letting it cook too long. The recipe said to bake for 35-40 minutes and after 25 minutes in my oven it was very well done. Maybe it was my oven? The flavour is very good, although as it is quite rich I would probably only make it once or twice a year.

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2003
These are excellent! I found a similar recipe on the pillsbury bake off site. The other recipe which I go by calls for 1 lb ground beef and 2 tablespoons of sugar. VERY GOOD! I used pillsbury's refrigerator biscuits.

Becki's Oven Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2002
These are the BEST wings I have ever had in my life! My husband who used to work in a restaurant says they are the best he has ever tasted! I did change two things in the recipe however. Before coating the wings with the sauce I dropped them in boiling water for 10 minutes. I didn't have any onion powder so I substituted garlic powder. Also, I put aluminum foil on the pan before I put the wings in (makes clean up easier).

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2002
These were really good! I shaped them into oval buns (like the bakery) and they were perfect for sandwiches. The only thing I changed about this recipe was the size of the rolls. Instead of making 16 which would have been too small for sandwich buns I made 8.

Outstanding flavour! Instead of the frozen veggies I added some chopped up celery and frozen peas(cooked with the potatos). Excellent recipe! Thanks Karen.

Shepherd's Pie

Very good although it needed a little something maybe next time I will make it with tomato soup or red sauce with a little garlic or so........ I put 4 kraft single slices down before the potatoes and it turned out excellent!

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2002
Very tasty! The spice mixture is fantastic and adds a wonderful flavour! One thing I might do next time is add the flour to a water mixture(spices, yeast, oil etc)instead of vica versa. I found the yeast was not dissolved properly which caused the dough to rise insufficently.

Bran Flakes Muffins with Raisins

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2002
Five star because husband LOVED them. I wasn't too thrilled. It was very salty, next time I might cut the salt in 1/2. For those who don't want whole flakes in their muffins try soaking the flakes in the milk mixture for 10-15 minutes. I did that and there was no sign of the flakes

Easy Teriyaki Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2002
I can't really rate this as a five star because I changed the recipe quite a bit. The taste was fantastic and a very nice change from the usual. After reading the rest of the reviews, I substituted teriyaki sauce for the soya sauce. The sauce was not nearly enought to marinate two pork chops so I tripled the amount and added 1/4 cup of water to the mixture (it would have been too strong without). After marinating it for 5 hours, I baked it with a little marinade poured over top and spread each side of the chops with plum sauce. I baked it for 1/2 hour on each side. Turned out perfect and wasn't too salty at all!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2002
Best pizza sauce I have ever had, although I made a few changes.......... I substituted 1 tsp sugar for all the honey and used 1/2 the water called for. I didn't use the anchovies, basil, marjoram or parmesan. Instead sprinkle the parmesan on the pizza crust after you spread the sauce; adds more flavour. Came out perfect. Thank you for sharing!
