Best Peach Cobbler Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2003
Delicious! I reduced the sugar to 3/4 cup and left out the water. I used canned peaches with no sugar added. There was exactly 1/2 peach juice in the can and I dissolved the corn starch in that. I baked it for 45 minutes and it came out perfect!

Baked Mushroom Thighs

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2003
This was very good! I scaled it to feed two and made the full amount of sauce. I poured the extra sauce over some veggies and used a slice of bread to mop up the extra. Delicious will definately make again!

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2003
This was ok. I have had better vodka sauce at an Italian restaurant. I found this was a little too rich and chunky and the Italian sausage didn't add a very good flavour. I will continue on my hunt for a good a la vodka sauce.

Lovely spread! Tastes very nice on scones or a nice hot roll out of the oven.

Lemon Fluff Cake

Reallly, really good! I cut this recipe in 1/2 to make 1 cake. Tastes like a fluffy, lemony marshmellow. Delicious!

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
Very good pizza crust, but way too much for a medium or large sized pizza. Dough is enough for an extra large.

Super Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
Remarkable flavour! I cut the recipe in half and it turned out perfect! The only thing I added to this recipe was 1/2 tsp of pepper and 1/4 tsp salt. This is now my staple Sloppy Joe recipe!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2003
Followed the advice of the other readers by using 1/2 cornstarch 1/2 flour. Turned out very watery and pudding like, even after I let it sit overnight! I think the recipe should have called for all cornstarch. Also as it was a little on the rich side, I would probably use 1/2 milk, 1/2 cream if I were to make this again.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2003
WOW! The flavour in this stew is amazing! I substituted 1 leek for the zucchini, used 3 hot Italian sausages to spice it up a bit and used 2 Bovril beef bouillon packets plus 2 cups of water instead of the broth. Will definately be making this again!

Sage Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2003
Very different, but extremly tasty. I would suggest cutting the pepper down to 1/2 or so as it is quite overpowering. I will be making this again!

Awesome Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2003
Really good! I followed some advice from the reviews and used 1 cup of applesauce as well as 1/2 cup of oil instead of all oil. I didn't add any pineapple and think if I would have added it the cake would have been WAY too moist! I also reduced the sugar to 1/2 and made 1/2 the frosting. My measurments for the frosting were 1/2 package of cream cheese, 3/4 cup powdered sugar and 1/8 cup of butter. I don't like icing too sweet!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2003
PERFECT! I made this last night adding 2 carrots and using 5 skinless chicken thighs cut up instead of 3 chicken breasts. I also followed the cooking time exactly. WOW! The dumplings were light as air and the taste of the soup was fantastic. This will definately become a staple in my house!

Easy Ham and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
This was wonderful! I did add 1 cup frozen peas which after reading the reviews probably helped to get rid of the "soupyness". It also thickened up during the baking process. Thanks for sharing, will definately be making this a regular in our house.

My husband rated this a 3, but I really liked it. Very simple recipe, good for a plain, jane dinner. I sprinkled a little parmesan on mine.

Horrible! I followed the directions, added more milk than called for and cooked it longer. Was not as creamy as I would have hoped for.
