Black Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
Wonderful!! Very tasty and not mushy. I used chili powder in replace of the cayenne and cumin. I also sprinkled a little bit of cheddar on top of my bowl of rice. Delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Pakistani Spicy Chickpeas

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2004
Very tasty! I only used 1 can of chickpeas and left the rest of the measurements the same. I also added a little sprinkle of cayenne. Wonderful recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2004
Pretty good. I wouldn't use 7 cups of liquid though! I only used 6 and the soup was a little watery. Very good flavour and a wonderful lentil soup otherwise!

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2003
AMAZING! I did however follow the advice of another reviewer and lowered the temperature to 350. I also put a little water in the bottom to keep it moist and basted it every 15 minutes. DELICIOUS! Will make again and again!

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2003
I used 1/3 of a package of pasta (feeds the two of us) and the full recipe of sauce. I boiled the chicken and chopped it up before adding to the tomato mixture. I used 2 garlic cloves as well as 1 small onion and added a cube of beef bouillon instead of adding salt. I also used 1 teaspoon of dried basil instead of fresh as I didn't have any. DIVINE! The reason why I am only giving it 4 stars is because of the changes I made. My husband rated it a 10 out of 5 ;-). Thanks for sharing!

Spicy Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2003
Nice! I added a little hot sauce to the egg mixture before I dipped the chicken in and that gave it a little more bit. I also cut the chicekn into "nuggets" instead of strips.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2003
I would give this recipe a 5 stars however I had to change a few things in the recipe. I cooked 1 chopped onion and 1 stalk of celery with the ground beef and added 1/2 cup of green peas near the end. I also added a little garlic powder and paprika for seasoning. EXCELLENT! I served over egg noodles. My husband loved this. However I dont think it would have been as tasty without the changes ( a little too bland otherwise).

Beef Parmesan with Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2003
GREAT!! I dipped the cube steaks in flour then egg and then the breadcrumb mixture so it would stick better. I also cooked the green pepper and onions in the tomato sauce before putting on top of the steaks. I also substituted linguine for the angel hair although I am sure the angel hair would have been just as wonderful! My hubby gives this a 25 out of 5. Thank you for sharing!

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2003
WOW!!!! Me and my better half rate this a 10 out of 5 ;-). Amazing flavour with the garlic! I did however cook everything on medium low so the garlic didnt burn. This is our main asparagus recipe from now on. Thanks so much for sharing!

Salmon With Green Fettuccine

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2003
WOW! REALLY good although I tweaked it a bit. I added a little bit of lemon pepper to the sauce and cut the salmon into very small chunks and cooked the sauce on low with the salmon in it. The sauce was very thick and creamy and the salmon wasnt all chunky (I dont like it like that). I used multi-colour fusilli instead of the green fettucini. I also substituted water for the white wine as I didnt have any. Will definatlely make again! Thanks for sharing!

Cream of Broccoli Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2003
Excellent! I sprinkled a little cheddar on top as well before serving. One thing to be careful about is the butter/flour ratio. I had to add a little more butter so the flour cooked sufficently. I know that with roux or cream sauce bases you have to use 1/2 flour and 1/2 butter but the recipe had an odd amount. Thanks for sharing!

Couscous and Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2003
Light and refreshing! I scaled this recipe in half and had it for my lunch. I added a tomato and would probably try adding peas, corn or even cheese pieces next time. Its a very versatile recipe and very tasty. I didn't use green onions as I didn't have any but used a little piece of regular onion chopped up finely as well as a squirt of Braggs (natural soy sauce). Thanks for sharing!

WOW amazing flavour!! My husband rated this a 10 out of five :-)!! I followed another reviewers advice and added an extra 1/2 cup water ( I cut the recipe in half to serve 2). I also added a dash of garlic powder. Serve extra sauce over mashed potatoes! Thanks so much for sharing!

I made this recipe into a "cream of" cauliflower soup by blending it all after the cauliflower was cooked. Soooooo good! Loved it! Very tasty and so easy to make! Thanks for sharing!

Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2003
Delicious sauce! Totally amazing sauce. #1 problem was the pork chops turned out VERY tough. I think it was maybe the carbonation of the beer or something. Next time I make this I will cook all the sauce ingredients before pouring on top instead of cooking it on the chops.

Kristi's Tetrazzini

Absoloutly fantastic! Wouldn't change a thing although I did cook the veggies before putting everything in the oven. I don't think it would have been cooked sufficently otherwise. Thank you!!

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2003
Pretty good. Very tasty although next time I will dip them in an egg mixture so the bread crumbs stick better. I found they weren't "crispy" and the bread coating was very soft. I will work on this one to see if I can improve them.

Absoloutely the best ribs ever!!!!!!! This is the one and only recipe I use and I make my own bbq sauce for them. My husband dies for these ribs! They literally fall off the bone! Delicious and couldn't be simpler.
