About this Cook
food = family = memories = life!! If I can get my loved ones to enjoy what I've created with my hands and from my heart, then I'm winning! I love to experiment in the kitchen, love to find new favorites. I work hard so I can play hard and eat good!! You can usually find me with my lil man, my hungry marine, or training to run a 5k, 10k or half marathon! I run to save lives! I run to fight cancer, I run for a purpose!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with salmon or bacon!! I love spicy food andI also love to "healthy-fy" a recipe!

Sean's Mommy's Roasted Root Vegetables
Thank you Sean's Mommy!! I only used turnips, sweet potatoes, celery, baby carrots and onions. My son and I never had turnips before and I wanted my first experiment with them to be a good one! This recipe did the trick! I added a small dash of balsamic in the "coat". We both had doubles and it's always a success when he doesn't choose to drown his food in either ketchup or ranch.

Creamy Baked Ziti
Excellent recipe! My son who hates spaghetti, lasagna and just about all pasta had 3 servings!! I added garlic powder and fresh basil and parsley. Other than that, followed everything as written. Thank you, this will definitely be a new staple!

Baked Sweet Potatoes
Made these last night after searching for a healthy recipe for sweet potatoes. I am training for a half marathon and this type of carb is excellent. I didn't use the olive oil, instead sprayed them with Pam used Mrs. Dash, salt and pepper for the spice. Threw them in the roasting pan with "Juicy Roasted Chicken" also from this sight. It was really tasty!! Will definitely make again.
