Kool-Aid® Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
My husband really likes this and it is very easy. I have used both grape and strawberry flavored kool-aid and we didn't like the grape at all. I add fresh strawberries on top!

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
I used zuchinni instead of yellow squash and sauteed the zuchinni and onions instead of simmering in water. Turned out absolutely delicious. Even my husband who doesn't like zuchhini loved it!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
Everyone enjoyed this recipe. Make sure you place the biscuits on top of the liquid, do not stir them in the broth. They will puff up and cook very similar consistency to dumplings. I used frozen chicken breasts, a carton of chicken stock instead of water, and 1 Tbsp onion powder instead of onions. Cooked on low all day while at work, shredded the chicken, and then added only 1 can of Grands Biscuits (cut in fourths) and turned slow cooker to high. Biscuits took 45 minutes. Plan on making again.

Man Loaf (Variation of the Meatloaf)

Reviewed: May 7, 2013
Couldn't get this to roll right, seemed to have too much filling. Was a mess and a total disaster. Ended up making into hamburger patties. Never again!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
I thought this recipe was really good. I used salt free chicken stock, salted butter, dried parsley, and about half of the amount of dill that was called for. Served sour cream separately. This would be good also reduced by half and thickened up more for a sauce over any type of meat. I probably won't make again as a soup though.

Beef and Noodles in Crockpot

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
I added a package of fresh pre-sliced mushrooms, half of an onion chopped, garlic powder, black pepper, and seasoning salt. Served over rice. Tasted pretty good and was easy so plan on making again.

Outrageous Warm Chicken Nacho Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
I used queso blanco velveeta, kept everything else the same but did add the black beans in the beginning. Everyone loved this including picky husband and son. Will definately be making this again, I am craving it all ready.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
These were devoured by my husband and son during the superbowl. I cut my bacon into quarters, didn't use toothpicks, and broiled for a couple of minutes at the end. We put in slow cooker to keep warm along with the juices from the pan. I'm sure I will be asked to make these again.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
I thought this tasted really good and the meat was very tender. The gravy was really greasy, and I tried to skim some of the fat off the top. It's not the recipes fault, just a problem with a fatty roast.

Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2012
Sorry, but we didn't like this at all. It was way too salty and had an overall weird taste. I think it might have been the dry mustard. Also the bottom was overcooked. Will try something else next time.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
I couldn't get my chicken breasts thin enough to stuff them so after browning the chicken I just put the ham and cheese on top and finished in the oven. It was delicious and everyone liked it so I will make again.

German Chocolate Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
My husband requested German chocolate cake for his birthday and I am normally don't bake. This frosting was delicious. However, I took the advice of one of the other reveiwers and toasted the pecans and cocount and burnt it! I had to run to the store to get more pecans and did not toast the second batch and it turned out wonderfully.

Jennie's Heavenly Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
Loved this! I started by melting the butter in the slow cooker on high and then added the cream cheese, soup, seasoning and Barefoot Riesling for the wine. I turned the cooker down to low and added the chicken. I cooked the chicken until it was falling apart (about 7 hours with frozen chicken), shredded it and then added back to the sauce. Served over egg noodles. Delicious!

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2011
I like trying different goulash recipes. This one was pretty good. I cut the recipe in half since there were only 2 of us. I used Rotel tomatoes instead of plain and Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning. I didn't use any bay leaves. This wasn't too soupy, just right amount of sauce to noodles. The macaroni was done in about 15 minutes, not 25. Overall, a good recipe, but I think I'll try another recipe next time.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
I made as directed and it was pretty good but my chicken turned out tough for some reason. The flavor of the sauce was good though. My husband said it tasted like artichoke dip. I may try it again.

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
I liked this, but my husband didn't seem impressed. I used rotel tomatoes and regular cheddar cheese. I liked how saucy it was, so I thought the amount of macaroni was perfect. I will make it again.

Beth's Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
This is my favorite meatloaf recipe, so moist and flavorful. It has the perfect ratio of wet to dry ingredients. I made just a couple of changes: omitted the sage, salt, and pepper, used italian seasoned breadcrumbs, and added about half of a packet of lipton onion/mushroom soup mix. I also leave out the dry mustard powder for the topping. I let sit for 10 minutes after cooking before slicing so all of the juices can redistribute. I serve this with mashed potatoes and gravy.

Best Beef Dip Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This was delish! I used a bread and butter roast (beef shoulder) and left out the rosemary and bay leaves. I could hardly get the roast out of the slow cooker without it falling apart it was so tender. I served on french rolls that I buttered on one half, added a slice of provolone to the other half and stuck under the broiler for a few minutes. I made beef and noodles out of the leftovers. I will be making this again!

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2011
Excellent. I cut recipe in half to serve 3, left amount of ham the same, added black pepper, and fresh parmesan on top. I let hashbrowns thaw for about an hour before mixing. Baked in a 9 X 9 glass pan and was done in 45 minutes. My husband really liked this and he can be hard to please. I will definately make again.
