Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
I made these last night, and WOW. Good, and juicy! My boyfriend is a picky eater, doesn't like trying new things, and he loved them! I halfed the recipe as it's just us and our two year old eating them,so 8 burgers were way too many.Only thing I didn't 1/2 was the egg. Also, I didn't have any Worcestershire sauce, but I just used a tsp. of soya sauce, and a tsp of vinegar, and it worked! Also, I didn't have any cayenne on hand,so I used a pinch of cajun spice. One thing I found was that the burgers didn't shrink when cooking them. Since it's winter out here,I fried them instead of grilling, and yes, they were great! This is my new burger recipe!

Easy Spicy Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
I tried these for supper tonight, and they weren't as good as the reviews said. Although, I didn't add the cheese on them at the end,so maybe that is what I did wrong/different. They weren't that bad, but they weren't that great either. With the smell of the garlic coming from the oven,I thought they would be too garlicky, but they weren't. This is a dish I probably would make once in a blue moon. I have to say I prefer my ol' onion soup mix potatoes to these.

Easter Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
These were really good!! I found the cupcake had a lemony hint to it,not sure why,but it was good! The chocolate in the centre was great!(I'm a chocolate lover) I decorated my cupcakes like one reviewer said they did: icing, tinted coconut, and jellybeans. Have to say, wasn;t too hot for that. I decorated them all at once, and after a day or two, found the jellybeans went kind of soft. I would have rather just had them with plain ol' icing. ( I left a few like that, and prefered it better) Definately gonna make them again, but not as fancy with the coconut and jellybeans! Would taste good anytime of year, not just Easter!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
These cookies were SUPER yummy!! This was my first time making homemade sugar cookies(I've always bought the package) and wow.I loved them! So did my husband, son and my husbands coworkers(he brought leftovers to work!) They stayed nice and soft, and even two weeks later, the few remaining cookies, were still soft and only then starting to go hard! Will definately use this as my go to sugar cookie recipe!

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2011
I just made these cookies and wow! Don't know what it is,but omg,are they ever good! Only thing I did different, was 1/2 butter,1/2 margarine.(just because I didn't have enough butter) The cookies didn't go horribly flat, and have so far stayed nice and soft. This is now definately my favorite go to recipe for chocolate chip cooks!

Pumpkin-Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
These are amazing!! After reading reviews that the batter was cake-like,the first time I made them,I did them in a 9x13 pan and turned it into cake...wow...awesome!! Hubby hates anything that sounds healthy,so I never told him there was pumpkin in here...and he loved it! Told him afterwards, and he still liked them. Made them again, the other day,and the store was out of canned pumpkin, and I really wanted them,so I got pumpkin pie mix...I just decreased the sugar by 1/2 cup,and they turned out great! A pan doesnt last more than a few days here, with me,hubby, and 2 toddlers...both of them love these!!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I would've given 5 stars, but I changed some stuff. Instead of sour cream,I used coconut milk.( I read in Rachael Ray,that it was supposed to be better than sour cream) I did 1.5 cups of whole wheat flour, cut the sugar down my 3/4 cup, added an extra banana and subbed 1 egg for ground flax. I was very worried how it would turn out with all the changes, and it was great! I loved this bread. I was planning to give a loaf away and freeze a loaf, but after trying this, my family(me,hubby,2 toddlers) ate a loaf in 3 hours! Hubby told me,this should be my go to recipe for banana bread from now on!

Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I made this wanting scalloped potatoes on night(and didnt feel like packaged or my MIL's) and these were good! I love mushroom soup,so that could be why,but even hubby who hates mushroom soup(and doesn't know I cook with it!) liked it alot! I also added a tsp or so of garlic powder( I put garlic powder in virtually all my cooking) and added some shredded cheese on top! YUM

Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I absolutely loved this! Instead of turkey gravy,I used cream of mushroom soup (out of gravy, and didn't want to make more),also, didn't want carrots,so used corn to give it that subtle sweetness. This was great! It reminded me of how when I was little my Mom fried up leftover turkey with a can of mushroom soup! So that could be why it was great for me! But,even hubby really likes this! This is now one of our favorite ways to use up leftover turkey!

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2012
These were awesome!! They tasted exactly like A&W's! Only thing I did different from the recipe was to use italian style breadcrumbs and crushed crackers(didn't have any plain breadcrumbs, and a touch too little of them,so that's where the crackers came in!) Hubby said he wants these in our regular rotation of food! I still cannot get over how amazing they were!

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
This recipe is the best!! My family loves it! My son never ate chicken fingers of any kind until I made them this way. First time, I followed some reviews and double breaded them. That makes a world of difference in them. I've tried them without the garlic in the marinade(I ran out) and it takes away from the taste, definitely need the garlic. One time, I ran out of normal breadcrumbs, and only had panko. Well, omg. That made them even better! We make this at least once a week. ( I know frying them isn't that great for us, but these are awesome and worth it!)

Mexican-Style Goulash

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2012
This stuff is good. I would give it 5 stars, but I never have tomato sauce on hand,so I omit it,I add a few more spices, garlic, onion powder,a batch of homemade taco seasoning. The first time I made it I followed it exactly, and it was a tad bland, second time around,I added the above mentioned spices, some medium salsa, and a can of black beans,oh,and I also upped the macaroni to 1 cup.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2012
I was looking for a cake recipe that only made a 9x9 cake,as I was doing a practice run with marshmallow fondant(for a birthday next month)and I came upon this recipe.I tried soley for the fact it made a single layer. And wow! This was great!! It came out tasting and being the texture of poundcake. we LOVED it!! It tastes great on its own without any icing too! I followed what some other reviewers said and beat the batter till it looked like yellow cool whip. It was perfect!! hubby asked for this to be his birthday cake next month!

Cream Soup Base

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
Just made this tonight..and wowzers! I honestly wasn't sure what kind of soup to expect..but it's so creamy and good! I turned it into a cream of chicken noodle soup. So,to the base,I added some garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. This was so good and easy to make..think this might become my new soup recipe! Very versatile!

Toddler Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
I've made these for my kids a few times now,and they adore these muffins!! Only thing I do different is add raisins to them, because we're big fans of raisins! Another thing though, instead of white flour,I do half white and half whole wheat(I do that to pretty much all my recipes) and next time when I make them,I plan to use applesauce in place of the butter!

Basic Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
I found this recipe when I was trying to come up with a different way to eat spaghetti. I love it,but my boyfriend hates it. I followed the basis for this recipe, which was my own spaghetti(meat sauce with garlic, onions, italian seasoning, etc) and I layered this recipe. Meat sauce, spaghetti, cheese, meat sauce, spaghetti, cheese. Well,we LOVED it. Even my boyfriend adores this recipe and asks me to make it all the time. It makes "normal" spaghetti taste so boring and plain, that I'll never make spaghetti unless it is baked again!
