About this Cook
I love to cook healthy meals, but being a working woman, I never had time for elaborate meals on weekdays. I mainly stick to simple, quick recipes with few quality ingredients, and save the fancy dishes for the weekend or special occasions.
My favorite things to cook
Bread. I love healthy whole grain breads and am constantly on the lookout for new bread machine recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I look forward to the summer when my organic garden is bursting with fresh vegetables and herbs. I have a large family and several members get together at my kitchen to make and can my "famous" salsa (this year over 200 pints which I sell and give away as gifts.
My cooking triumphs
I have one recipe, a to-die-for coconut cream pie, which I guard with my life. This is definitely not my usual healthy recipe, but I do have my weaknesses.
My cooking tragedies
Dropping my sister's strawberry pie on the floor at a family gathering. No, Cindy, I did not do that on purpose.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce
Very flavorful. A bit salty, thus the 4 stars. I served over buttered, parsley noodles. Very easy and quick.

Challah I
I halved the recipe and added step 1 ingredients to my Sunbeam Bread Machine and set it on "dough" setting. When cycle was complete I continued with steps 2-5. The texture was fantastic. I would have given this five stars, but the recipe is time consuming (but worth it).

Turkey Drumsticks Perfecto
This is my personal recipe. Place rinsed and patted dry turkey drumsticks on a rack. Do not put turkey directly into the broth or the flavor will be diluted. (I use Butterball turkey legs).
