Spritz Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
Okay, let me start by saying I am no professional baker, but am a fair cookie baker. I have made spritz cookies before following my manufacturers recipe, but wanted something different. Well, this recipe for me was a glorious fail. I followed the directions to a T. Used less flour as recommended because I was using all purpose, and it was still so dry, it was not even funny. I added a smidge of milk, refrigerated, and then couldn't believe how hard it was. I let it warm up, and tried to add a smidge more milk. Put it in my cookie press and it broke my first disk, it was so hard. Tried to soften it some more, and finally gave up and just dropped it onto the sheets. To add insult to injury, the flavor was not that great. Even taking the added milk into account, these were really blah.

Chickpea Salad II

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
Great recipe! I added a little more parmesan, and red bell pepper. It was very tasty! Even hubby liked it, and he isn't fond of these sorts of vegan fair. We will certainly be adding this to our regular rotation. Thank you!

Belle and Chron's Spinach and Mushroom Quiche

Outstanding recipe! I have been making this for close to three year. My husband loves it. It takes a little work, but it is well worth it.

Potato, Broccoli and Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
Wonderful soup! I added some sage, marjoram, and tumeric (for more of an orange flavor), and also about one cup of the cheese I made a skim mozzerella. The soup was smooth (I pureed it entirely). It was very easy, and certainly worth making again.

German Brotchen Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
This is a fair recipe. It's not quite like the one's we get in Germany, but my German husband finds them an okay substitute (this is a big compliment from him!). The taste does seem a tad bit too yeast-like, as someone else mentioned. The texture is very good too. I suggest using butter instead of shortening, unless you are on a restrictive diet.

Easy Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2005
Great recipe! And very easy. I didn't have sour cream, so I substituted with half and half. Also, I used ground chicken instead of beef. Very yummy! Thank you for sharing!

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2005
Great and easy! I did as someone else suggested and added a little sugar an vanilla, as well as a tiny bit more milk. These were great! I am usually crepe challenged, but this recipe worked out great. I served them with mushrooms and asparagus in cream sauce. My husband loved them!
