I also, like many others, believe that a tenderloin is not the right choice of meat for a slow cooker recipe. I used a pork roast. It was done in 4 hours and very nice and tender. I thought the root beer would be "the special ingredient" ... but in the end it didn't add much to the taste. When I pulled the pork, I reduced the root beer in a pan. Then added it to the meat and bbq sauce in the slow cooker. Taste was ok, not fantastic. I also added some chili paste to give it some pep, which turned out to be a good idea! I will try a different recipe next time.
