I am currently in my last quarter of nursing school as well as recently married. It is a goal of mine to have a well rounded meal on the table for my husband when he gets home from work. Working 12 hours days and going to school can make that a challenge!
I decided to make a variety of meals and freeze them in individual portions so he can still have a quick and easy meal even if I'm not home. I chose several recipes from allrecipes that I have made in the past, as well as a few new ones I found on pinterest-
my second favorite website :)
A few of the meals I chose to pre-make and freeze included:
Classic Meatloaf made in muffin tins
chicken and rice soup
blanched green beans
I love my vacuum sealer! It makes freezing individual portions so easy!! It also helps to not eat too much as you only thaw what you're going to eat!
I also made 3 frozen meals that are ready to be thrown in the slow cooker at a moments notice. I made a beef stew with all the ingredients separated into one of 3 ziplock bags and all I have to do is put it in the fridge overnight and throw it in the slow
cooker in the morning.
Because cooking is a pretty new concept for me, I thought it would be fun to start a blog on my attempts and successes of cooking. I had no interest in taking the time or learning how to cook before I met my husband, but the adoration and praises I get from
him (and others now too) has given me a whole new appreciation for cooking!
