Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
Love the way this turned out. However, do NOT add more corn syrup. Add more milk a little at a time to get the desired consistency. NOT corn syrup!

Chocolate Thumbprints II

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
I made mine bigger than necessary. They spread out quite a bit when they cooked. Skipped the egg. Sounded like too much work for no reason I could figure. Someone says these aren't chocolaty enough, but I found them to be very chocolaty. Rolled them in red and green sugar and they turned out pretty for Christmas.

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
Wow. These are amazing, and pretty easy to make. We sprinkled with colored sugars. Important to bake at 350, I think instead of 375, and you'll have to check often because they go from not done to done in a short period of time. How many minutes it takes depends on the pan, really. I used two different pans. In one pan it took 15, and the other it took only 10. Just keep an eye on those edges and take out as soon as they start to turn brown and you'll be fine. Also, whip that butter a LONG time. I think I let it go maybe 15 minutes on high. Once I added the other ingredients I think I let it go on high about 5 minutes after the initial minute on low. Everyone loved them.

Orange-Glazed Asparagus

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
Very good and very easy. But, it works just as well to just mix the oil and orange juice in and cook it until it glazes. I haven't had to remove the the veggies and then make the glaze. Just leave it all together. I also add a little ground ginger to it. Works well with broccoli too.

Honey Mustard Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
I really liked the flavor, but it was incredibly runny. I would like it to be a little thicker.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
Increase the flour to 2 1/2 cups and bake (with toppings on it) for 20 minutes at 400 and you'll be pleased with what you get. We also let it rise a little longer.

Fudge Brownies I

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2008
Very good. We don't like nuts in our brownies, and I had read that many people thought these weren't chocolaty enough. So, instead of the chopped walnuts, we used 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips. These were very good.

Picante Chicken Rice Burritos

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2008
I put more cheese on top, and I poured a bottle of salsa verde in the bottom. These were really, really good.

BBQ Chicken Calzones

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
Awesome! The only thing was, it seemed like a bit too much filling for the calzones, so I ended up using only about 3 quarters of it. But, the extra filling was really yummy just to eat by itself. I did not use any cilantro, just because I don't really like it. Overall, really really yummy, and pretty easy to make. Next time I'll use my own crust though, rather than store bought.

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
Not quite sweet enough as is. I used twice as much sugar, next time I'll use even more as I still prefer it a little sweeter. The canned stuff is soooooooooo sweet that I think we become accustomed to whipped cream being sweeter.

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2007
This was really good. Since I like balsamic vinegar just a little more than soy sauce, I did as some others suggested and used 1t of soy sauce and 1T of vinegar. Super easy, and sooooooooooo yummy.

Classic American-Style Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
I like a more adventurous potato salad, personally, and over the past few years I've made many potato salads that I have loved. Unfortunately, my husband has always disagreed. This time I went hunting for the perfect potato salad for his less adventurous tastes and found it. It's good, easy to make, and although nothing fabulous, it certainly deserves the name "classic."

Broccoli Hamburger Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2006
We used fresh broccoli. Otherwise, I did this just as instructed. It's pretty fattening, but very tasty. We all liked it. It's very much like a beef stroganoff mix with broccoli and cheese on top.

Wild Rice Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2006
This smelled wonderful. I did it in my slow cooker and used two baked chicken breasts. I also did not puree. As I said, it smelled wonderful and the veggies and chicken were great, but the liquid part was lacking something. It didn't have much flavor and we ended up adding salt to each serving. I'll work with it.

Morton®'s Luau Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
Yum. This was easy and we really liked it. The only problem I had was getting the cooked beef patties off of the coarse salt bed without collecting much salt with them. Other than a couple of bites that were salty, these were fabulous.

Best Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
This is definitely a case of bury it under enough fat and salt and they'll eat anything. No one in our house likes green beans, but they all ate this. Not at all healthy, but it did get them to choke down the beans in order to get the cheese, creamy soups, and fried onions.

White Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
Yum! and easy. I didn't have a problem with the amount of powdered sugar. I thought the consistancy came out just fine, unlike a few other reviewers. However, I used real butter and milk instead of water and shortening.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
Made this for my husband, who is a big fan of white cake and always buys it by the piece from the grocery store. It was easy to make (nothing special) and satisfied his white cake craving. Good, sweet, easy.

Tortellini Pasta Salad

Very, very bland. It had a pleasant taste, but certainly not one anyone will be craving. Turned out pretty, though.
