German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2007
I made my cake out of 2 8" layers and used the rest of the batter to make cupcakes. I've never tasted german chocolate cake before but this cake was pretty good. I personally would've like more of a chocolatey flavor since it is a chocolate cake...but it was very moist and I enjoyed the crunch in the icing. Definately do 1 1/2 x the recipe of the icing and toast the nuts and coconut.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2004
Made the white cake for a block party and got rave reviews.Very simple and almost fool proof. Be sure to whip the egg whites until soft peaks form and GENTLY fold in to avoid overmixing, other wise it won't turn out light and fluffy.Paired well with chocolate buttercream frosting

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Not a big fan of this cake. I was looking foward to somthing more fluffy and light, but this came out quite dense and heavy. Would not make this cake again

Irish Cream Liqueur II

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2004
This was awesome! When i first melted the chocolate and added some of the wiskey, the chocolate looked like it was burnt because it was all dried out. Don't be discouraged, though because it 'rehydrates' again once you add the rest of the ingredients and whisk it to get all the clumps out. I also added the coffee granules to the whiskey before mixing it all together. Friends couldn't get enough of it, said it resembled an 'alcoholic chocolate milk'. Tastes even better when in the fridge for over a week.Great recipe!!!

Sunshine S'more Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2003
Quite interesting. I made them earlier in the day and the fluff kind of dripped over the sides. I took some more of the crushed grahm crackers and sprinkled it over the marshmellow for an added effect

Whipped Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2002
I've never relly had home-made whipped cream before, so i found this one and it turned out delicious! I make it all the time now and it's verry easy! It comes out the best if you leave the bowl & whisk in the freezer for about 1/2 hour or so. Yummy!
