Brunch Omelet Torte

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
This comes out beutiful when using a Spring Form Pan. You have to adjust the pastry a little but for the bottom crust but it is OK. I cubed my ham and make it the day before. make sure the potatoes are done. Let it return to room tempertature before cooking. Delicions and a big hit with everyone. Makes a beautiful presentation.

Blue Cheese Bites

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
These came out fine. Use Pillsbury Grand Biscuits and cut each into six pie shaped pieces. Works best if you melt the butter and blue cheese together then dip each pie piece into the mixture before placing on baking sheet. You can brush the extra cheese butter mixture on top of bites as they are cooking also. Pie shaped pieces make a more attractive presentation. Watch cooking time so they don't over brown on the bottom.

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Quite tasty, and a winner. I did do some adjustments due to our own diet preferences. Used ground turkey, low sodium beef broth instead of water, pinto beans and added a can of diced tomatoes. This would also be good with corn, carrots or celery added. Will make again.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
Certainly a winner. Have made it twice now and always rave reviews. The only thing I did differently was not to add the cinnamon to the sprinkle at the end, as I felt it made the topping less attractive. Used ripe peaches. One of the best cobbler recipies I've tried.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
This is ano miss winner. Added two bouillon cubes to water when cooking chicken then used this as the broth recipe called for. Also added 1/2 potatoe. Slightly precooked bottom crust and brused egg whites on top crust. Nice body to pie. Will certainly make again.

Coconut Shrimp I

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
Certainly a hit at our Wine Group's monthly gathering. I used the extra large shrimp 8-10 per pound. Everyone raved over them. Expensive to use the extra large shrimp but worth the effort. The key is to keep the oil at 350 degrees if not using a deep fryer.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
I have made these several times and are always a hit at the party along with the Brown Sugar Smokies on this web-site. Certainly can't go wrong with these. They are gone in minutes.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
I have made these countless times and served them at parties. Always a hit, expecially with the guys. I do like to slighly cook them and drain some of the excess fat from the dish before I add the brown sugar and complete the cooking.

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
Very, very good. Nice meal on a cold day. Hubby doesn't like bell pepper so replaced with celery. I did find recipe only serves 8 if using for main meal. Certainly will make again and again.

World's Best Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2004
Great Soup!, I cut the bacon back a little (12oz), added chopped garlic and parsley. I agree with other reviewers celery and onion needs to be sauted first. Certaily feeds more that 10. Will make again and again.

Creamy Potato Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2003
Very nice and great for a hearty meal for a hungry group. I agree with others that you only need to use 1/2 the milk. I also chopped the onion rings before adding them. Will certainly make again. Goes great with Sweet Green Bean Bundles recipe. For ease rather than bundle the Green Beans, I just cut up the bacon and add to the beans.

Sweet Green Bean Bundles

Delicious. A great hit! Found it easier to just cut the bacon into small pieces rather than wrap them. Can also be done with fresh green beans.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

This is excellent. A big hit! Even better when made the day before. Used as main meal so added extra beans and used vegetable broth to give more flavor.
