Plum Buckle

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2012
This was delicious and easy to make. We ate it hot right out of the oven. I purchased a 30 oz can of plums and was looking for a plum dessert to use them in when I came across this one. I had one can of plums so I cut the recipe in half and baked in a 9 x 9 glass dish. It still took 45 minutes to bake. I did everthing else the same, but used brown sugar instead of white in the topping.

Hearty Meatball Soup II

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
We loved this soup so much. I did have to substitue 2 bags of frozen mixed vegies as I was out of the other vegies and that worked out great because there was no chopping involved. I was also out of french onion soup mix so I had to substitute a dry onion soup mix I found on this site by faye522, and we ended up loving the flavor of the homemade one. The meatballs have an incredible taste, I wouldn't change a thing about them. We serve this soup with parmesan and italian bread. Delish!

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Scrumptious! I made this recipe as written except I used fresh mushrooms and added a small chopped onion, and sauted them together. Also when I added the 3 cups of milk, I added one at a time stirring well in between. I cannot believe how good this turned out. I would never substitute canned mushroom soup or canned broth, because there's no reason to. It's perfect as is and the homemade taste is worth the extra little effort.

Italian Leafy Green Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
I didn't have all the ingredients as listed, so I had to use a regular head of lettuce and used olive oil instead of the grapeseed oil and I only had dried basil. In spite of substituting so much it was still so delicious, and I've made it many times and I use the dressing part of it on other salads as well. If it's this good with limited ingredients I can't wait to try it with all the correct ingredients one day.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
This mac and cheese turned out really good. I omitted the chopped onion and I didn't have the dry mustard so I used ground red pepper for flavor, and it was great.

Tina's Best BBQ Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
I've made this several times and my whole family loves it. I use skinless boneless chicken breasts only, and when you pierce them as recommended they absorb the marinade and are so flavorful. I cut the cooking time a lot with boneless breasts, it was more like 10 minutes on each side. We even used the left over boiled marinade as sauce. This is very good with lime cilantro rice, they compliment each other well. Can't wait to make it again. Thanks Tina for such a great recipe!

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
We loved this dish. I followed some reccomendations from other reviewers and I doubled the sauce and removed the shrimp from the pan as soon as it turned pink. The sauce does take a pretty long time to thicken, especially since I doubled it, but it was so good and i didn't have to add any thickener such as cornstarch. Also I only used about a 1/2 teaspoon pepper. With these changes it was so creamy and had such a great flavor that I'm not only going to make it often, but I'm going to try it with grilled chicken. Thanks for a great recipe.
