About this Cook
I'm a young woman, not yet out of high school. I've been through some rough times, and am still going through them, actually, but I try to stay chipper in the face of unpleasant situations.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook all sorts of cakes, sugar cookies, brownies, pies. Biscuits and accidental breakfast pastries are fun to cook as well. And bread puddings!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Actually, I can't think of any specific traditions. We're rather relaxed in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
I made bread pudding out of chocolate cake, and it actually was pretty good, especially since I messed up the recipe. I baked some citrus sugar cookies, 212 of them to be precise, for the pre-Christmas Break celebrations at school. Everyone asked for some to take home, and the teacher actually asked for the recipe! I made a cinnamon/citrus cake, and the icing to go with it. It was gone in less than eight hours. I made it at one in the morning.
My cooking tragedies
I went to make a cake, but for some odd reason, the sugar had been replaced with splenda of all things! It turned out with a pancakey texture, and was so boring. I know it was the splenda, too, because I'd made this particular recipes several times before and it was wonderful.

Candied Lemon Peel
This recipe worked beautifully, even with lemons with very thing peels. I boiled the peels for about 15 minutes the first time, though, as I wasn't certain that they were tender. The syrup is also quite delicious. Thank you very much for submitting a wonderful recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
These never fail to please, be it coworkers, family, or classmates. They're just the right amount of crisp and chewy, and wonderful regardless of how much or little chocolate is in them. This recipe is going to be a new stand by in my home, for certain.
