Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2013
Wonderfully old school, no-nonsense comfort food at its best. This is real beef stew without all the stupidity other people add in. Bravo for this recipe!! Karen

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2013
Great chicken! For the people who complained about the chicken not being done...increase your cooking time slightly for a larger bird...duh! This recipe uses a smaller chicken, hence, the lower cooking time. Following the recipe exactly per the seasonings listed gives you an end product worth five stars. If you must be one of those who changes recipes, don't tell us. We don't care. This recipe is great as is. Thanks for sharing!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
Wow. This is one fantastic recipe. I made it exactly per the directions and it turned out wonderfully. I think I will cut some of the sugar (by 1/2 cup) because it is a very sweet bread. Thank you for this great recipe!!

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
8-10 hours on LOW! High at 8 hours is too long and unnecessary. I've always cooked mine on LOW for 8-10 hours and it turns out perfect. And, whole peeled red potatoes cooked for that long also turn out soft and wonderful!

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
The bread tastes great, however, 12 oz of beer does not seem to be enough liquid. The bread was way too dry. I increased the beer to about 18 oz. and it worked better. This recipe is a good one!

Basil Bean Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Great bean salad, very fresh tasting and easy to make. I used about 2 TBSP of yellow mustard instead of dry mustard, and it was fine. Great choice for a church picnic- thanks!

Sour Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2011
You can use a "moist" version of any cake mix. This cake will turn out perfect IF you follow the directions. Use exactly one cup of sour cream. Don't be tempted to use more or you will have a flat cake. Also, use some common sense while cooking this cake. Follow the baking directions on the cake mix box, HOWEVER, make sure you check doneness with a toothpick before you pull it out of the oven. Sometimes, you will need to cook it longer. It depends on your oven, the pan you use, and your level of common sense.
