Changing lifestyle makes everyday interesting. Learning new things like cooking good food on a strict budget, cooking for two, trying to meet people in a new area, and being a full time babysitter....all intersting to say the least.
My favorite things to cook
Everything. Love italian probably the most but husband is a die hard meat and potatoes man. He's great about trying new things however. I think his favorite new thing so far as been the vodka cream sauce. He was so sure he wasn't going to like it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always love cooking when the whole family gets together (which isn't all that often.) I always over cook....could serve 10 other families besides our own...but it's fun and gives me the chance to try all sorts of things.
My cooking triumphs
If I fix a meal and someone else eats it and says it's good...to me that is a triumph! LOL
My cooking tragedies
I guess my biggest was with garlic. My parents never cooked with it so when I made a casserole that called for 3 cloves of garlic...Yup...I used 3 bulbs. Who knew??? Husband nearly keeled over when he opened the oven to see what was for dinner. Fun memory that we still laugh over.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw II
Oh so good!!!!! Took to a party today and received tons of compliments and a big empty bowl to take home! I used cider vinegar as that is all I had on hand, but other than that, I doubled the recipe and followed it to a tee. PERFECTION! Thanks for submitting, Steph!

Baked Penne
Very good! Husband REALLY like it. I seasoned the beef a bit....italian seasonings and garlic powderand browned with onions and green peppers, then drained grease before adding sauce. Other than that, followed recipe. After adding mixture to casserole dish, I covered and refrigerated until dinner time. Baked probably 40-45. Fast and delicious and I really like the fact that I can prepare ahead of time.

Beef Tips
This was good but I think next time I will used maybe a tad less Worcestershire...just a personal preference.
