Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2014
Ok,so I cook a lot and have at least 15 years experience as a cook and Allrecipes rarely leads me wrong. But this was pretty horrible! I'm no stranger to Teriyaki or any kind of "Orientalish" foods.I typically love them! I followed others reviews and doubled the sauce recipe cut the chicken breast in 3rds and dipped it in the sauce before putting it in the casserole dish to bake for about 30 minutes. I steamed some broccoli, onions and baby corn together to serve with this over rice. The sauce was so bad that no one in my family could eat it(even my 1 year old who loves food was just spitting it out!). Ended up chucking the sauce, rinsing off the chicken, cubing it and throwing it in a frying pan with some sesame oil and a few other things to get that horrid taste off!!! Maybe we were all just having an "off" night, maybe this is spectacular like everyone raves, but I will not be making it again!

Party Pinwheels

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
Ok,I give these 5 stars for absolute versatility! I've never made the "exact recipe" listed because I always seem to be preparing for a last minute event and I don't always have everything listed but I just throw stuff in a bowl and chill it. I follow the basics but always add whatever....bacon,lunch meat, green chilies, green olives, take out or keep the bell pepper, regular onions instead of green, and then add spices usually dill and garlic salt. I also just use ranch dressing instead of the packet. I've used flour and wheat tortillas of all sizes. Messy to make, but kiddos are always willing to help and I'd say definitely taste the filling and adjust to your taste.Keep the filling a little strong because the tortilla will mask the strength a little. Regardless though they are ALWAYS a hit! They get 5 huge stars from me!

Dark Chocolate Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
MMMMM.....VERY GOOD! Followed the recipe except used pecans instead of walnuts because that's what I had. So good. Rich, chocolately but not overly of either. My husband says they're excellent! The bottom takes like a buttery wafer bar then combined with the chocolate is....just yummy!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
Sorry, these weren't good. Only thing differently that I did was add chocolate chips, which I always do because that's how my husband likes them. I've made A LOT of pancakes from scratch, growing up as the second oldest of 7 kids we had pancakes a lot so I don't think it was my technique that made these so bad. These are the worst I've ever made! They weren't fluffy at all and the flavor is ok......I always go for the highest rated recipe on this site which is what this was and I don't know if I'm going to do that anymore.......disappointed!

Flavorful Flounder

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
This is one of the most amazing ways to have fish! I always get compliments and everyone wants seconds. I only change two things. My local supermarket doesn't carry fresh flounder so after making it several times with frozen and it just being all mushy,I decided to try another white fish. Now we use frozen Swai, which works great and I always bake it. Place it on a greased cookie sheet and bake about 10 minutes at 350 until it flakes. Pour over the sauce and broil for 30-60seconds. The recipe is very adaptable,I've used regular yellow or white onions, garlic salt, added cherry tomatoes, and used Parmesan powder and it always comes out great! My hubby always asks for this dish!

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
This WAS awesome!!! I thought,"ehh swiss cheese? Thats kinda gross!" But I tried it anyways and I used turkey lunchmeat instead of ham.....they were delicious!! You cant taste the swiss really,it just gives it a little creamy sharper taste. This recipe dresses up chicken breasts a lot but it was easy to make, which is a plus. I used up leftovers the next day by making a little more sauce and serving it over rice(which btw is really good). Excellent!!!!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
AWESOME!!! If you love(or even like) caramel you have to try this! At my house half a batch is gone in 24hrs at most....that's 3 ppl eating it. I usually half the popcorn and keep the caramel the same and it turns out wonderfully every time and very caramelly and crunchy. Other than that don't change anything! 5 stars all the way

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2011
All I can say is "WOW!" and my husband and I don't even like brownies! I followed the recipe exactly and used almost a whole bag of Ghiradelli's 60% cacao chocolate chips. And these made them not too sweet but perfectly chocolately Not too cakey not too flat! I served them warm with a dollop of whipped cream and a little drizzle of chocolate syrup. Perfecto!!!!!
