Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2014
Excellent! Great taste and texture and bakes up to perfection! The family gobbled this right up. The only thing I found is the recipe as written is way too much for a 9x13 baking dish, but that is easily remedied by using 2 baking dishes. Well worth the effort--especially considering the amount it makes! Will definitely make this again!

The New Layered Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
I love layered salads!! The only thing I did different was omit the fennel, as it tastes like licorice to me, and I don't like licorice, and the family wouldn't like it, particularly in salad. Once I omitted that, this salad was gobbled up!!

Chocolate Pudding Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2003
This is indeed great, especially for "something different".....it draws a lot of "oooh's" and "ahhh's", and people are impressed, yet it's SO EASY to make!!--one word of advice: you can use the refrigerated peanut butter cookie doughfor this---this is pretty much identical to a Pampered Chef recipe that uses the refrigerated cookie dough--only the sugar cookie dough--which, I've made it that way, too, and drew rave reviews, also--something to consider for the poster who thought the pb dough was too overpowering.....this one's a keeper! Also, in the Pampered Chef recipe, it mixes some sugar in with the cream cheese--about 1/3 cup sugar

Apricot Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
A HIT!!!! A HIT!!!! A HIT!!!! Five-stars from EVERYONE I served this to...and some of them are VERY picky!! It's even better if you let it sit for 10-15 minutes after you take it out of the oven. The chicken was verrrrrrry tender, can cut it with a fork! Not sure what a couple reviewers meant by too sweet or too strong of onion soup taste??--we found the combo very good, and my mom doesn't like things "too sweet", and she didn't think it was too sweet at all, and she's picky about that kind of thing, and she also doesn't like "too salty", so that was not a problem, either. She was the pickiest eater and she ate every last bite--unusual for her!! I served this with simple white rice and green beans. Dad LOVED it, and he said it was even better the next day--what very little left-over was left......I admit, I myself was un-sure of the mixture, but, between the reviews here, as well as MANY local people I know that "know" this recipe--and they ALL said it was a hit, so I HAD to try this.....glad I did, this one's a keeper!!--and soooooo easy!!! What more can you ask for??

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2003
Guess I'm the "Lone Ranger" on this one...heehee....anyway, I did not care for this dip at all. I had high hopes bc of all the GREAT reviews.....I did not like it with the jarred Alfredo Sauce......I don't like Alfredo Sauce from a jar....anyway, I DID like Florentine Artichoke Dip recipe on this very website MUCH better--should've stuck with THAT one......

These sent everyone to Cookie Nirvana!!!! Quite easy, love the fact they don't require shaping/cutting, or rolling, or none of that stuff. Easy. I got MANY requests for the recipe for these.

Seven Layer Bars

Good, but the sweetened condensed milk is better if it's poured over the melted butter-graham cracker layers. I suggest cutting it into very small squares, as it is quite sweet. But this is always a hit.

Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Great for impressing guests, and amazinly easy. Pretty much everyone will love this and ask for the recipe....It is amazingly easy, yet looks like it came from an expensive gourmet shop or something. Can also use left-over turkey for this recipe, perfect way to use Thanksgiving left-overs.

Dirt Cake II

I agree the proportions for this are off....so be warned......there is a better recipe for this.....but, of course, the kids love this.....can also be made with vanilla wafers and vanilla pudding and called "sand".......This has potential, but the proportions need to be adjusted........so, I would recommend another recipe for this.......I believe the correct recipe is posted on allrecipes.com

Lemon Meltaways

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2002
These were TERRIBLE!!!!!!! They break into a miilion pieces when taken off the cookie sheet--and I was very careful with them!! Then, they tasted TERRIBLE!!--like lemon juice mixed with cornstarch--YUCK!! I understand they are to be like a shortbread-type-texture, but I've NEVER had cookies or shortbread break into a million pieces like that before!!!!! AWFUL!!!
