Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
First of all, I rate almost every recipe 5 stars. I think anyone willing to share recipes deserves high scores in my book. If I don't like a recipe I just don't rate it. THIS CHICKEN IS A GREAT PARTY MEAL. I more than doubled the recipe and took the advice of another reviewer and cooked the chicken last night in broth, shredded the chicken this morning and we'll be having them in a couple of hours for my sissy's bday celebration. The chicken tastes phenomenal even cold. I did add some of the chicken broth less the fat (it floats to the top and hardens in the fridge) to the sauce. The same reviewer also suggested brushing the rolls with olive oil before toasting. If I had thought of it I should have made a cabbage slaw to go on top. I can't wait for the feast to begin. Thanks for the recipe and for the added suggestions. Maybe one of these days I'll share

Hawaiian Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2011
I'm going to take the advice of a fellow baker and bake for approx 50 minutes. I just took mine out after 40 minutes and even though my toothpick came out clean, when I cut into it, it was a little too soft, almost sticky-gooey. I've got it back in the oven with hopes it will turn out better after another ten minutes. I think next time I make this I'll add b/p & b/s because just using the b/s makes it too dense and banana bread is already heavy that it needs a little lifting. I hope it tastes better after a few more minutes baking but like most banana breads they always taste better after they have cooled and given a chance to sit. BECAUSE YOU SHARED I'M GIVING THIS A 4 STAR. thank you!!

Coconut Walnut Biscotti

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
VERY EASY WITH GREAT RESULTS!! I too adjusted the recipe a bit; 3 1/8 cup flour, 3/4 cup cocunut and I used pecans because that's my favorite which I toasted together, very lightly, before adding. It might seem like it's dry but don't give up, divide the dough in half and roll each half out on the counter with your hands and if the roll separates, simply pat it back and keep rolling gently back and forth till you have a log, The butter content will mesh it together if you're patient!!! My 3 year old "helps" me when I'm cooking/baking and these were a perfect recipe for her to help me with. TRY IT, I can't wait for tomorrow morning to eat them with my morning cup!!! thanks for a great recipe.
