Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2005
I've been making asparagus this way for the past couple of years. I discovered the recipe in an issue of Cooking Light magazine (the only difference is in Cooking Light they use kosher salt and omit the pepper, as I recall) and it is OUTSTANDING! I've made this in my toaster oven (much better results than in a full-sized oven) for everyone who comes over to eat and they are always impressed. It's absolutely THE simplist, best-tasting recipe for asparagus you'll find. The trick, and this is an important note, is to slightly burn the butter (never use margarine) before adding the vinegar and soy. Unbelieveable!

Light and Fresh Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2002
This is such a wonderful all-purpose salad dressing. Every time I serve it for guests, they leave with the recipe. I substitute onion powder for the chopped onion and omit the sesame seeds. It's expecially good with mixed greens, nuts (walnuts or almonds) and fruit (craisins, grapefruit, or oranges) all tossed together. I highly recommend this dressing!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
The best apple pie recipe, hands down! I also added cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, and stirred 3/4's of the syrup into the apples before pouring them into the crust. It spilled over in my oven, but I wouldn't change a thing except to put a pan on the oven shelf below to collect the spill. The lattice top baked up beautifully. Serve slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top - amazing!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
Just what I hoped for! A sweet bakery-like blueberry muffin. I scaled the muffin ingredients to make 12 muffins but left the topping at 8, added a teaspoon of vanilla to the wet ingredients, baked for 22 minutes, and they turned out great! I agree with other reviews - it's a must to use paper liners and spray the top of the pan to avoid sticking. Spread a little butter on the bottom half, eat the top half for "dessert", and repeat until they're gone - Yum!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2005
I printed this recipe back in November of 2002 to prepare for Thanksgiving that year. It has been a staple in our house ever since. I make it every year for my husband's birthday "cake" and it beats every apple pie and crisp recipe hands down! I always omit the water and double the topping (advice I read in reviews back in '02). If you're an apple crisp fan, don't miss this recipe!!

Grant's Special Mardi Gras Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
My family thought this recipe was awesome! I added diced chicken, extra sausage and tomatoes, and substituted Half & Half for heavy cream. The flavors blended deliciously and I'll definitely add this to the rotation.

This recipe is wonderful! I added a few extra shakes of Tabasco as recommended by other reviewers and cooked it about 10 minutes longer. Simply delicious!
