Hamburger Buns

These are so easy to make and taste great. I omitted the 1/4 cup water because I don't usually proof yeast and I used Red Star Active Dry because that's what I have on hand. The only thing I might change it to use less salt. I weighed the dough into 4 ounce portions and got ten 4" buns. I'll make them again but I'll add about 1 cup of whole wheat flour for a little more flavor.

German Rye Bread

The texture of this bread is nice, soft and moist. I substituted some of the rye flour with whole wheat flour because I wanted a lighter loaf. But my bread is way darker than the photo posted by MARBALET. Also, the molasses taste is very strong, and I used 1/3 cup. I think next time I'll use dark corn syrup or maybe just a tablespoon or so of molasses. My dough doubled very quickly, and so did the shaped loaves, way less than the 1 1/2 hours listed. Will make this again, with a couple of changes.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

I just cut the first slice of this wonderful bread. It's absolutely delicious and makes two 10" loaves perfectly. I put in an egg and 1 cup of whole wheat flour because I like my bread to be a little heavier than usual. I will use this recipe over and over, it's wonderful. I also used 3 packets of yeast, almost 3 tablespoons and bread flour, but think I will use all purpose next time. Thanks to Grandma VanDoren, I'm sure she was a wonderful lady and a great cook.

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

Love love love this recipe. I started the mix in my old Sunbeam stand mixer with the dough hooks. After the big and puffy experience, I transferred to board and finished kneading in the flour. I did add an egg in the beginning and 1/3 cup dark corn syrup because I didn't have enough honey. It was DELICIOUS. The texture is perfect, 3 loaves very useful and the taste is great. Will be baking this one all the time. Prep Time is way more than the 20 minutes shown.
