Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2003
These muffins were fabulous. I used golden delicious apples and followed the recipe exactly. They turned out huge, moist muffins with a crunchy topping. Perfect with that morning cup of coffee. I took some to my college student son and he loved them too. Thanks for a great recipe.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2003
My husband asked me to make Snickerdoodles this evening. He was extremely pleased with the results from this recipe. I'll be making these again for the holidays. I followed the recipe exactly and chilled the dough for about 15 minutes before baking. They baked 10 minutes in my convection oven and came out perfectly with crunchy edges and chewy centers.

Skillet Ham, Cabbage and Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2003
I've never been a great fan of cooked cabbage but my husband loves it. I've tried this recipe exactly as written several times now and both of us have enjoyed it. It is an excellent way to use up some of the extra cabbage from our garden. Thanks for a great basic recipe.

Zucchini Coconut Loaf

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2003
You can't go wrong with this recipe. I followed it exactly and my bread turned out wonderful. Just enough coconut that it wasn't crumbly. The boiled raisins made them more plump and juicy. This is a wonderful way to use that extra zucchini.

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2003
Excellent. My family loves to try new recipes for zucchini bread and this one didn't disappoint us. The only change I made was to use orange extract instead of vanilla. Even so, the orange flavor was very subtle. Great recipe.

Deeeelicious Vidalia Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2003
The flavor was good but this dressing was too runny for my taste. It was more like an oil & vinegar consistency. I have had vadilia onion dressing before and it was thicker and richer. I probably won't make this again.

Pineapple Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2003
I doubled this recipe to make 2 loaves. It made enough to also make 2 mini loaves. I followed the directions exactly and this turned out beautifully. One of the best zucchini recipes I have tried. We especially liked the glaze added to it. I will definitely make this again and again.

The Best Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2003
I am not a great fan of meatballs in spaghetti but my husband is. He thought they were absolutely wonderful and I actually enjoyed them too. Very simple to make. No need to use oil in the pan when you brown the meatballs. I will definitely make these again.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2003
The first time I followed the directions exactly and the muffins were great. The next time I made them I doubled the recipe using half brown sugar and half white sugar. I added a little cinnamon and vanilla. To the batter I also added some milk chocolate chips and chopped walnuts. We couldn't stop eating them. Thanks for a great recipe.

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2003
This flan tastes better than the flan at our local authentic Mexican restaurant. In fact, I'm taking the recipe to the owners. I'd never attempted to make anything like this before but it turned out just beautifully. And was my husband ever impressed with my culinary skills!

Cherry Crumble

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2003
I didn't think anything could be better than my cherry crisp recipe until I tried this one. It adds more of the delicious topping to the bottom. What a wonderful idea. We really enjoyed it warm with ice cream or milk. I'll be using this recipe from now on. Thanks.

Orange Cream Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2003
I used sugar free instant banana pudding, mixed it with 1 cup of milk & OJ. I then added the sour cream along with some whipped cream and cinnamon. I used unpeeled apples, bananas, pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries, seedless red grapes, and a handful of shredded coconut. It turned out great. Very creamy & flavorful.

I'm not a real fan of any cake but my husband really liked this one. I, however, thought the frosting was absolutely wonderful. It tasted like chocolate fudge.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 30, 2003
My roast turned out very tender and flavorful. The gravy was great for mashed potatoes. I didn't have any vermouth or white wine so I just added water instead and it was fine.

Cheesy Potatoes

This was a quick and easy recipe. I added a small amount of milk and used a mixture of Velveta & shredded cheddar cheese. This was very good and tasted alot like cheesy scalloped potatoes. Mine were done in 18 minutes.

The Best Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2003
I was looking for something different to make with hamburger. This was an excellent change of pace. I served it over white rice and with a tossed salad. I added some drained crushed pineapple to the sauce for a little extra flavor. I also browned the meatballs and then placed them in a casserole and covered them with the sauce and baked at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes covered with aluminum foil.
