About this Cook
I am a thirty-something blogger living in Los Angeles with my British Boyfriend and two cats. I love to travel, read and go on adventures. Check out my blog http://www.alwayspackedforadventure.com
My favorite things to cook
I didn't grow up in a household where I learned to cook, so this is a very new experience for me. I am having fun learning and have found that I am pretty good in the kitchen. I favor baking and crock pot recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
none. Well, maybe making tacos with my aunt. My aunt's home made tacos are my favorite home cooked meal. We really don't have a lot of family cooking traditions. We are more of a take-out type of family.
My cooking triumphs
I make awesome lemon bars. I can also do a fantastic deep dish pizza, sauce and dough from scratch. I am very proud of it!
My cooking tragedies
Last year, I attempted homemade marmalade to an epic disaster and very messy kitchen!

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf
I made this last week to mix reviews. I loved it, but boyfriend liked it, but thought that it was too sweet. I may try to make it for him again, but use crushed pineapple, rather than preserves to cut down on the sweetness. I thought the leftovers made great meatloaf sandwiches and was okay that he didn't love it, because that left more for me!

Poppy Seed Chicken Casserole
I made this for dinner this week and my boyfriend ate it so fast that not only did we not have any leftovers, but I had to battle to get my portion of dinner! It's really yummy and ridiculously easy to make. I loved that we already had a majority of the ingredients. I may even make it again tomorrow, to use up the sour cream in the fridge.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff
This is my favorite recipe discovery on this site. I've made is several times and it's a big hit every time. It's easy to make and delicious. The left overs heat up well. I've made it at least fifteen times since last winter and still love it.
