Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

I made this for a luncheon at work and everybody loved it. I did take the advice of others and cut down on the brown sugar and ketchup. Will definitely make again for a cocktail party. Not sure I'd want to eat it for a meal though.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

I was a bit skeptical about this one, but I thought what the heck. I have one of those 1970's olive green crockpots and it was still great. Can't wait to get one of the more current models and try again, it will probably layer better.

Sauerkraut Casserole

This is a fabulous recipe. I often take this when we're invited to friends for a barbque. The Slowcooker Sauerkraut and Sausage recipe on this site is another favorite.

Garlic Chicken

My husband and I love garlic and we love this chicken. If I have any of the butter/garlic mixture left over I drizzle over the chicken before baking.

Creamy Pea Soup

This soup is wonderful. I blend about 3/4 of the pot and leave the rest. I'm the only one in my family that eats this soup so I usually give some to friends. They're always asking when I'm going to cook another ham so I can make more soup for them.

I also used lite soy sauce as recommended by others and threw in some frozen shrimp at the end. Is was great over rice.

Banana Cake II

I have made dozens of recipes from this site to take to parties without trying them first and have always had rave reviews. But wow was I embarrased with this one. This cake for so heavy and dry and gallon of milk wouldn't have helped. It was 8 months ago I made this to take to some friends house and we still talk and laugh about it.

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

Best blue cheese dressing I've ever had. I never let my container run out. When we have luncheons at work and someones bringing chicken wings I alway bring my own dressing for dipping. Thanks Bill!

Beer Steak

These steaks were tender and juicy. The lemon pepper really added some zing. I couldn't tast much of the beer flavor. I think next time I will try a heavier beer.

Fried Rice I

WOW!! I will never order fried rice from a chinese take-out again!! My step-son who doesn't like peas loved this dish. Definitely a keeper in my recipe box.

Stuffed Zucchini

This was very good. I used hot italian sausage and that really added some zip. My husband does not like zucchini so I stuffed some green peppers also. Did have to cook this a little longer than 45 minutes, but I covered it with foil the last 30 minutes because the veggies were starting to dry up. Overall a very good filling.

Marinated Beet Salad

Great recipe. I served it with a pork roast and it was awesome. Definitly serve at room temperature. I tasted it cold and thought it's alright but when I had it later after sitting out it was ALRIGHT!!!
