Vodka Mocha Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
The base cake is very good - and I did use the 5.9oz package of pudding and it turned out very fluffy and light... but does have a definite liquor taste (again, like it or hate it). If you could improve the glaze, maybe add nuts to the bottom of the pan it would make it stand out more. Overall, a bit average without making it your own.

Flat Iron Steak with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
This was very easy and fast. I think the "too vinegary" reviews may have been caused by not allowing the balsamic to reduce enough, because it was very sweet tasting if allowed to reduce about as much as the recipe says (by 1/2). I used 3/4C of balsamic like other reviewers, so perhaps that was it. Anyway, very easy and good weeknight dinner with sweet potatoes and corn!

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
Really very tasty recipe. I halved the bacon for health purposes, but was still very flavorful - bacon goes a long way. I also used craisins instead of raisins and used fresh lemon juice from my lemon tree. The flavors are amazing!

Creamy Pesto Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2004
This is SOOOO good. We make this at least once a week, and often reduce the fat by using less butter and using 1C half and half & 1C lowfat milk. Turns out a little thinner, but still very good. We also use the prepackaged frozen shrimp w/ tails off - run it under cold water 5 mins before adding & it's so easy! No problem even for weeknight. We've also added scallops to this - YUM. Very, very tasty. Restaurant quality.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2004
Great recipe! I've made it twice, once using the "soak in the pan" idea from previous reviews. The second time I just poured the glaze over the top, following the recipe exactly & it turned out just as good, if not better - and it was much easier. It hardened up pretty well, and everyone loved it. Using a pastry brush to brush the glaze on the sides seems to yield the same result/thickness of the glaze. I also used brown sugar, and both times only used about 1/2... so next time I'd only make 1/2 - 3/4 the amount of glaze as indicated in the recipe.
