Blackberry and Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2014
Delicious recipe that everyone in my family loved. I did not end up using the crust part of this recipe, however, the filling was fabulous. I used frozen berries that we had previously frozen. Thawing them under warm water, I dried them with a towel before putting them in with the rest of the filling. Excellent flavor. I think I would use a little less sugar next time just to match my tastes. I also think we would use just blueberries and maybe try other types of berries too.

Juicy Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
Really good marinade. We used this marinade on a giant leftover pork rib. I made the recipe for 2 servings. I marinated it overnight to really soak up the flavor and then baked in the oven for an hour and a half. With more tender meat I probably would have cooked it on the stove. Great marinade that I will definitely use again.

Sally's Spinach Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
Yum!!! Holy cow were these delicious and gloriously addictive. I did not expect much from this recipe thinking it had spinach and would be gross. I had a ton of fresh spinach on hand and so decided to make them. I softened the spinach with a little olive oil in the fry pan.The only real change I made to these was to take out the onion and substitute the butter for less olive oil. I also used less of the sour cream. I think that just depends on the size of your potatoes. The only thing I would do differently next time would be to chop the big pieces of fresh spinach down a little smaller.

Cocktail Meatballs I

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
Wow we loved these. My mom used to make a recipe with grape jelly in her meatballs that I really enjoyed. This recipe might even be better than it was. Seriously even better after sitting a night in the refrigerator. The sauce is to die for. I didn't have ground beef on hand, so I used ground pork in it's place. I did not use the shortening or egg, but I did use leeks instead of onions. A major hit in my family.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
Wonderful recipe. Found we liked it best without the pickles and the onion. I think I used just a dash of the Dijon mustard. Also made this on sliced bread. Although I'm sure it would be wonderful on a French loaf as well. We didn't have gruyere so I used a sharp cheddar instead.

Chef John's Baked Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2014
I have made this at least six times for my boyfriend and I for breakfast. We absolutely adore it. I follow the recipe pretty closely except I add a little less red pepper flakes. I also use seasoned parmesan. For the marinara sauce I use a small can of Hunts tomato sauce. I also like to lightly scramble the eggs prior to baking. A wonderful and different breakfast. Love it!

Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Completely delicious. I did not have syrup, so I used honey and brown sugar which made a spectacularly tasty side dish. Loved by all!
