Lemon Blueberry Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2012
Great bread recipe! I used 4 T. of lemon juice and about 3 T. of lemon zest because I LOVE lemon and I skipped the blueberries and walnuts but I did add 1 t. of ground lavender (done with a mortar and pestle) but this texture of this bread was fantastic! I made a glaze of lemon juice and powdered sugar and brushed that on right out of the oven and again after ten minutes. I garnished with more lemon zest and dried lavender. I think this basic bread could be flavored to become any number of breads i.e. orange/cranberry

Lemon Yogurt Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2012
These are delicious!! I did not add the recommended cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg but I did add a dash of cinnamon and ginger. For the yogurt I added one of lemon yogurt and one of honey Greek yogurt (I doubled the recipe as recommended and I got 22 muffins). I added lots of lemon juice and zest because I LOVE lemon!! I will make these again!

Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
These were easy to make and tasty but they tasted more like chamomile tea and just lemon and lavender. I halved the recipe and rolled into logs and sliced before baking and I still netted about 4 dozen 3" cookies. I will make again but I think I'll add more lemon and lavender and leave out the mint (the mint was really good but I think it's what made them taste like chamomile).

The Best Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
The caramel recipe alone gets five stars! It was fun to make and tasted delicious!! My friend took a bite and said "you didn't just melt squares to make these- this is REAL caramel, isn't it!" The caramel came off the apple when we ate them but it was so good. I sprinkled my finished product with kosher salt and they are the best I've ever had. Thank you for a great recipe!

Snickerdoodles III

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
These are easy to make and delicious. My only alternation was to add about 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter because I love cinnamon.

No Roll Sugar Cookies

These are easy and fun to make!! Oh and buttery and delicious with a crisp edge and soft center. Thank you for a wonderful recipe. I followed the recipe with the exception of adding 1/4 t. of almond extract.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2012
The frosting tasted flat and waxy. I added 1/4 stick of butter and 3/4 brick of softened cream cheese along with a 1/4 t. of almond extract and that saved this recipe.

Old Fashioned Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2012
This just came out of the oven and it's so good! This is a perfect old fashioned upside down cake. It was light and spongy and very sweet:) I did add about 1/4 c. of sour cream but other than that I followed the recipe as is. Next time I think I'll add a can of crushed pineapple to the batter for extra pineapple flavor.

Kim's Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
These are okay. Not a lot of flavor but they were fun to make. I think I'll add more salt next time and put garlic powder in the dough.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
These are just what my sweet tooth ordered! I followed the recipe for the most part. I threw in a few dashes of cinnamon and used raspberry preserves (with seeds) and the seeds were undetectable. I will make these again. These were quick and easy. Thank you for the great recipe!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
These are soft and delicious. I halved the recipe with good results. My cookies needed to cook for 13 minutes and were still slightly underdone, but I think this lent itself to the soft/chewy factor. My cookies did not look crackled like the default picture. They were a little pasty looking and thin, but these had a good flavor. Next time I think I will add more molasses. I will make again.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2011
These are quite tasty. Soft and chocolatly. I doubled the chocolate and added 1 tsp. of instant coffee. I also sifted in the flour (1/2 whole wheat) and cocoa. I had a hankering for chocolate cookies and I was eating these about half an hour later. Thanks for the recipe;)

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
These are really good! I made the recipe as is, except I added 1 tablespoon of instant coffee dissolved in 1 tablespoon of water. The texture is fantastic, but as other viewers said- super sweet. I think I'll cut out a full cup of sugar the next time I make these. I don't like things too sweet, so if you do, keep the recipe as written. I've been looking for a rich, chocolate dessert and these are it!

Blueberry Strata

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2011
This is a great dish-but not as is. I followed other folks suggestions and used less cream cheese. I used about 2/3 of a an 8oz brick and that was plenty and I pinched off little bits with my fingers into the mixture as opposed to 1/2" pieces. I also doubled the maple syrup to sweeten it up and added about 1 t. of cinnamon. I only used about 8 eggs and that was plenty. I served mine with maple syrup and not the blueberry syrup. This was a huge hit for our Mother's Day brunch.

French Bread

This was fun to make, but the end product was dense and the flavor wasn't that great. I'll keep hunting. I think a little sugar would have helped.

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
I halved this recipe and it turned out nice. It looks beautiful and spreads nicely. I wanted a richer flavor. I know this sounds crazy considering the butter and amount of chocolate, but it not THE recipe. I'll keep hunting. I made this to go on a chocolate cake and the birthday girl loved it.
