Crab-Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes

This recipe seemed really interesting to me, but the reviews made me really suspect and so I tweaked the whole thing--I used fresh crab meat instead of canned and red pepper instead of green, I left out the onions all together, and instead of vinegar, I used lemon juice. I also stuck a tiny chunk of blue cheese in each tomato to add a bit of extra flavor. I think it all came together pretty nicely. With the changes, it had a really tangy and sour flavor and I enjoyed it very much.

Kale Chips

This recipe was really fantastic and I absolutely loved it! I used apple cider vinegar instead of sherry vinegar (both because it's my favorite vinegar and because it was all I had) and instead of using sea salt, I sprinkled a little lemon pepper on top of them and it turned out *amazing*. I do agree with the other reviewers, though, that you have to watch the cooking time. Mine were done in fifteen minutes, so thirty-five seems to be a bit overboard.

Mary's Meatloaf

This is, by far, the best meat loaf that I've ever had. I only made two changes to the original recipe--the first being that I didn't have garlic powder, so I used a teaspoon of minced garlic instead and the second being that I used oyster crackers rather than bread--and it turned out wonderfully. Everyone who ate it liked it and we'll definitely cook it again.

Garlic Bread Fantastique

I made this on the day before I went grocery shopping and I have a habit of as-you-go cooking, so I tweaked this recipe a bit. I left out the sage, used four cloves of garlic instead of three (I also minced it instead of chopping), used Italian seasoning instead of Oregano, used a bit less salt, since I didn't have any Parmesan cheese on hand, I used this "Parmesan and Herb" seasoning I had instead since it was the closest thing I had, and I used regular white bread instead of a baguette. I also changed the amount of ingredients I used since I was only cooking for me and one other person. When all was said and done, I absolutely LOVED this bread. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't any left over after we were done eating. It's the best garlic bread that I've ever had and I honestly don't ever see myself ever buying pre-made, frozen garlic bread ever again.

Twice Baked Cheesy Potatoes

I found this to be a really easy base recipe. Personally, I prefer a strong sourish/tangy taste so I modified the recipe to my tastes. I don't really like American cheese so I used cheddar instead along with a little blue cheese. I also added bacon, a small handful of chopped chives, and when it was done I sprinkled a little lemon zest on top. It turned out great and I really enjoyed it.

Strawberry-Cucumber Salad with Almonds and Mint

I made this salad for myself as the recipe said and the flavors were just not to my liking. The mint, especially, just didn't go pair well with the flavors of the mustard and vinegar at all. I don't think I would make it again without making a lot of changes--I think that maybe green apples would work better than strawberries and if I used the mint, then I would leave out the mustard and use a different type of vinegar.

Chicken in Creamy Gravy

The only changes I made to the recipe was adding some dried basil and a half-teaspoon of garlic powder and I also sprinkled a handful of lemon zest on top. I served it with a spinach salad and mac and cheese and the whole thing was really great.

All-Purpose Rub for Meat

I read the other reviews before I made this and followed the advice in those; I cut back to 3 tablespoons of salt and I cut half the sugar out and replaced it with brown sugar. I also added a half teaspoon of curry powder, as well. I used it for pork chops and it tasted fantastic.

Not Your Mama's Tuna Casserole

As far as recipes go, this is good as a base but I think that it needs a lot of work to make it less bland. When I cooked this, I only used one package of spinach and two cans of tuna. I also used shredded carrot along with the spinach. I skipped the eggs (I thought they were too much of a hassle for what's supposed to be an easy meal), used leftover bits of stuffing instead of bread, replaced most of the butter with olive oil and used other spices (curry powder and red pepper flakes) along with the onion powder to give it more of a kick.
