Not Your Usual Pasta Salad

Pretty tasty! The add-in's are great. I'd 1/2-2/3 the red onion. Do not use mayonnaise - use Miracle Whip!! It's sweetness counters the vinegar. It's needed.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

It is very good. However these raving reviews I didn't understand. If you follow the onion soup recipe for meat loaf, it's not that far off! I followed the recipe exactly. It could use a glaze/sauce but isn't mandatory. But it probably would be better with it.

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

It was good. I love pumpkin pie but only have it during the holidays & couldn't tell if the fresh pumpkin was marked improvemtnt. I need 2 sugar pumpkins to get to 2 cups. Filling is liquid but sets when cooked.

Catfish Cakes

Good, different way to eat catfish. Dense. No substitute for crab or crab cakes though. It's very clear this isn't crab!! Way too much onion - 1/3 or half it. Needed seasoning! By far not enough Old Bay! Spouse did not like, I thought they were fine.

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

This chili is GOOD! It tastes like what you think chili would or should. You can control spicy-ness by salsa added. More of the spice is tasted and salsa taste gone after cooking. It is meaty. The recipe doesn't make this 'huge' batch - it makes enough.[An envelope of McCormick's or Old El Paso chili seasoning is 4 tbsps.]

Spanish Chicken and Rice

Rice was excellent! I cooked the rice with the broth and spices then mixed in soft onions and peppers as raw rice in a casserole NEVER cooks for me. Chicken was chicken. I season with heavier S&P then called for.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake II

This cake is DELICIOUS!!! EVERYONE loves it!! Nuts can go either way. Nothing 'extra' is needed. The cake is super moist! The batter is thick and sticky when mixed. That is correct - expect it. You can use cook & serve pudding but it makes an already thick batter - thicker! End result is the same. Sugar free pudding doesn't matter. Butter recipe cake mix doesn't matter. (Despite the butterscotch pudding - you really don't taste butterscotch)

Super Easy Chicken and Dumplings

It was good. I had never had chicken & dumplings before. Its soup not thick like gravy. I thought it was thick....but really had no idea. Use a big pan as the buscuits do swell and take up room also the person who had the biscuits clump together must've dumped the cut, stuck together group all in at once. Make sure each biscuit piece is put in on individually.

Extremely good!! It gets the good rating for a reason! I followed the recipe just cutting the amout of butter used down. I don't think anything suffered using a little less butter amounts. Worth doubling!

Chicken Jambalaya I

Pretty good! I cooked the rice then added it. All cooking/simmering was as the recipe listed. [I've been burnt countless times where you add uncooked rice that is supposed to cook in the casserole and never does.] I did not add hot sauce as I don't like it. Even with it cooking, I was afraid it would take bad/strong and ruin the dish for me. After eating, I felt it did need a 'kick' of flavor though. My spouse said it was excellent when 'raw' hot sauce was added.
