About this Cook
I'm a professional working mom who loves spending time in the kitchen having fun! In a perfect world I'd work 2-3 days a week and spend the rest of my time at home with my family.
My favorite things to cook
In the winter something warm, savoury, healthy and satisfiying in the crock pot or on the stove. Lots of great healthy are hearty soups are had in our house! In the summer something light and fresh maybe a salad or something on the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking big batches of seasonal foods. It could be the frugal eastern european in me!
My cooking triumphs
Homemade pasta! I can cook just about anything I have tried somewhere else. I love trying new foods then finding a version I make at home. Jerk chicken, pad thai, chick pea curry are just a few examples of things I tried then rereacted at home thanks to the internet and my big stash of cook books.
My cooking tragedies
Overcooking meat.... that's about it!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
Love these. I have made as is and they were very good. I now add orange zest, vanilla and sometimes white chocolate chips. Very good with any or all of the additions. Make a double batch!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken
OMG. I love this recipe. I have made this about a dozen times. It is great as it but I have been making modifications lately and like it even more! I add - about a cup of chopped cilantro, a can of black beans, an extra diced onion or two and the whole big jar of salsa. I serve it with sour cream, more salsa, shredded cheese, fresh cilantro, white rice. Super tasty! You can also add a can of jalapenos if you want to kick it up. Really tasty. Super easy! Oh and we have used the filling for fahitas and tacos too. I make my own taco seasoning mix so the sodium is cut. I could eat this every day! Makes tones of leftovers!

Sweet, Salty, Spicy Party Nuts
i loved these! I made a double batch. Used 2 cookie sheets. Trippled the cayenne pepper and added 2 teasp of chili powder! Super spicy and supper yummy!! Thanks for this great technique!! I mixed them while cooling on the foil so they did not stick! They were so good! You can use whatever nuts you have!
