No-Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2013
These came out perfectly for someone who can't quite get the hang of baking (especially cookies), so this is definitely a well named recipe, No-Fail. Will be using this one again and again!

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
Made this by following the recipe exactly, except I ended up adding extra bacon for good measure, and used only 7 out of the 9 potatoes I cooked. I was afraid it wouldn't be saucy enough. It really just depends on the size of the potatoes, but Germans like it saucy. I'm not german, but live in Germany and my friend whose family is from Austria said it tasted just like the potato salad they always make. Except they serve it cold and without the bacon, but I know Germans do it this way (hot and with bacon). I did try it cold but preferred it hot. I wanted to use apple cider vinegar instead of white, but decided to stick to the recipe exactly. Next time I will try the cider vinegar to make it a little milder, but only because I'm not a fan of vinegar in the first place, unlike Germans. Point is, this recipe is authentic, I made it successfully, and I've never even made any kind of potato salad before.

Cheesy Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
I wasn't sure if this would be any good, but wanted to try something different and I was pleasantly surprised. My husband liked it and it was good as leftovers too. I followed the recipe exactly except I used chopped onions, instead of minced, and rotini twists for the pasta. I don't know how people can rate/review this if they didn't even use peppers or cheese. It wouldn't even be the same recipe anymore. I highly suggest adding the cheese to the sauce like the recipe calls for. And I also noticed that the parsley actually made a difference too because I did not use it at first.

Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
I love mustard and anything with french-fried onions so I was excited about this easy dish, but I didn't care for it at all.

Lemon Berry Slushy

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
I like this easy recipe, but it was too sour, or "tart", for me and I usually love sour things. And 1 cup of strawberries didn't seem to be enough, so I will make some adjustments next time.

Tartar Sauce I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2011
Had to use immediately, and it tasted good. I used onion powder, dill relish and mixed all the ingredients together at the same time, and it still tasted like tartar sauce, haha.

Teriyaki and Pineapple Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
My husband wants this like every week. I was looking for something with lots of peppers, and we really fell in love with this sweet&spicy dish. I serve it on rice, and sometimes add sugar snap peas.

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
A great pasta dish which has become a favorite in our house. Easy and very delicious, definitely restaurant quality. However, I do add way more than a cup of spinach.

General Tao Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Pretty close to the General Tao chicken we like, but in my opinion, not quite right. I'm not sure what it is, the ginger, ketchup, or something that's missing. However, this recipe is somewhat tasty and seems to have all the basics to make this type of chicken, so I will be using it again but with changes.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
This has become one of our favorite pasta dishes. I make it with penne rigate pasta, and without the artichoke hearts. I also found it easier to cook the chicken first and then the sauce last, like others suggested.

Smooth Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Having lived in the south my whole life, I had heard about baking soda in sweet tea before, but was always afraid to try it, but I add it every time to my tea now, so don't be afraid! It really cut out the 'bitterness' of the tea, and made it very smooth. We always use Luzianne Tea and at least a cup of sugar.

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
Followed this recipe exactly, except I used my own pasta sauce, and 4 oz can sliced mushrooms. It came out very good, my family and I loved it. We didn't find it too salty as others claim. I put the ricotta cheese/egg mixture in the fridge before stuffing the shells like someone suggested, since I had never tried to stuff shells before, and found it very easy to stuff them. Only had a hard time fitting all the shells into one 9x13 pan, but I think this is a really good, easy recipe and serves as yummy leftovers too. Will definitely be making this again.

Easy French Dip Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Super easy. Can't find beef consomme in Germany so I used beef stock&granules, since I read it is just a really strong broth. I used Swiss cheese, and also added salt and pepper before placing it in the oven. Next time, I'm going to put the bread in by itself first, and then add the meat&cheese to melt once its toasted, because the cheese completely melted before the bread was able to get toasty enough for us.

Mini Meatball Subs

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Tasty recipe, and pretty easy. Though it would be way easier to just buy frozen meatballs like another person said, but where is the fun in that!? Like suggested, I made normal sized meatballs (about 15) and used hot dog buns to make an actual mini sub. But they didn't hold up, so I will probably use real hoagie/sub buns next time.
