Bacon Ranch Bread Bites

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
I made this again for company last night. They loved it! Even though they said it looked strange. I agree it is hard to get the bacon to stick to dough -- so I made smaller pieces of bacon and persistant on kneeding the pieces into loaf! I also chopped the mozzarella into smaller pieces.

Reese's® Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate Chip Brownie Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2003
These came out great and not overwhelming peanut butter flavor. I would recommend doubling the drizzle and agree with scoring the brownie layer prior to adding the peanut butter mixture.

Fantastic recipe! Don't think I'll ever buy a store brand again! Original recipe defintely makes a large batch. I scaled it to 6 servings.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2003
Slow cooked a 6lb whole chicken. I used the recommended seasonings plus added minced garlic in cavity and liberal shaking of Mrs. Dash Herb & Garlic seasoned salt. Yes, it was golden brown and a "fall of the bone" chicken, but we were surprised that taste was nothing to write home about. I'll stick to hour of marinating and use our grill's rotisserie.

Applesauce Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
I made several modifications and received excellent complements: Added 1 tsp vanilla; used cinnamon flavored applesauce; decreased ground cinnamon to 1/2 tsp; added 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg &1/4 tsp ground cloves; used Craisins instead of raisins and toasted the walnuts. These cookies do not spread. The first batch at teaspoon size seemed alittle too small. After that I used a scoop that's a tad over a tablespoon. Baking time 10-11 minutes.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2003
I added 1 cup crunchy peanut butter and decreased the choc chips to approx. 1 1/3 cups. Took them to work and received rave reviews. I used a scoop that was a tad over 1 Tblsp. I baked them at 350 for 10-11 minutes. One batch I used a fork to crisscross. They came out fine but did not present as well as the scoop. This is a keeper!

This is a great bread recipe. I use it all the time -- especially to make garlic bread. The crunchy crust is the best!

Five Flavor Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2002
I made this for a large family Xmas Eve party and received rave reviews. NOTE: it barely fits in a 10-in bundt cake pan...recommend you place aluminum foil under pan in case of minor overflow

Bacon and Date Appetizer

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2002
Been making samples of different appetizers for my annual Xmas Open House and this one will definitely be there! I tried baking a few at 400 degrees, but took too long. So I deep fried (peanut oil) at 350 degrees for a couple minutes. Absolutely fantastic. I used the Blue Diamond Roasted Salted Almonds and wrapped dates in 1/2 slice of bacon.

Sesame Tempura Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2002
Absolutely fantastic!! Light and tasty batter. I definitely had to add flour and I also added some Italian breadcrumbs to thicken it up. I used Sam Adam's Light Lager beer. Deep fried small florets of broccoli and cauliflower plus some button mushrooms. Dipping sauce also great. Received rave reviews from my guests.
