Rebel Angels

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2002
I made it using the amounts in the recipe, and it was WAY too spicy. They were still pretty good though, and I will definitely try them again using much less pepper.

Ranch Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2002
I thought this salad was just ok, but my boyfriend loved it. It's definitely something different, and I will probably make it again. I added some chopped tomato, and I had to add a little more dressing just before I served it, since it did get a little dry.

This is absolutely delicious - a definite favorite. It is a little time consuming, but very easy. I didn't change anything in the recipe, and it turned out wonderful.

Easy Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
Pretty good, but way too salty. It was very easy to make though - quick to put together, then just put it in the oven while you make the rest of your meal.

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2002
This recipe is very easy, and tastes fantastic. Like others, I made two batches of sauce and tossed the first have after the first part of the cooking - It does get a little greasy. Doubling the sauce calls for 3 cups of ketchup - instead I used 2 cups ketchup and 1 cup chili sauce. I cooked the meat for 10 hours, and it just about fell apart when I shredded it. Will definitely make over and over!

Caramel Brownies II

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2004
These are a little bit of a pain to make (unwrapping all the caramels, and trying to spread a very thick brownie batter on top of caramel) but they're worth it. Best brownie recipe I've found, and my co-workers are constantly asking me to make them.

Shredded Beef for Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2004
I didn't really care for this recipe at all. After 9 hours in the crock pot, it was still not very shreddable and didn't have much flavor. I added a lot of spices, and kept it in the crock pot on high for another 2 hours. After that, I was able to shred it, and it had more flavor, but I didn't think it was anything special. Would not make again.

Tomato-Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2004
Thought this had kind of an odd flavor. Not necessarily bad, but not a flavor I'd want to eat as a soup. Seemed like something that would be better thickened and used as a sauce

Shrimp and Mushroom Linguini with Creamy Cheese Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2004
I added some chopped green onions, and as other reviewers suggested, used 8 oz cream cheese, and used milk in place of water. Easy to make, and tastes fantastic.

The Way to a Man's Heart

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2004
I followed the recipe exactly (unusual for me!) and thought this recipe was just ok. I usually love cooking with wine, but thought in this case, the fish ended up with too strong a wine flavor. Also, the red pepper in the sauce kind of overpowered any other flavor. I might try this recipe again, making a few adjustments - might cook fish in a garlic/olive oil mix, and reduce or eliminate the red pepper

Shrimp Embrochette

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
I thought the stuffing was kind of boring. I might try again using less bread crumbs and more cheese and crabmeat for more flavor. Also found it difficult to get the stuffing to stay in the shrimp.

St. Louis Toasted Ravioli

Good, but they weren't as crisp as some I've had in restaurants. Not sure if there is something I should be doing differently, or if that's how they were supposed to be.

Cucumber Salad

The vanilla yogurt seemed to give it an odd flavor. Salad was edible, but not something I'd make again.
