Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2005
This is a good recipe, but I have to agree with other posts about omitting the lemon juice. It made it way too tangy. Next time I'll use some "fruit fresh" maybe (I am assuming the added lemon juice is to preserve color?) instead. Aside from that, makes a great pie.

Coffee Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2005
Overall, this was a nice addition to the cookie...but next time will add more coffee. My "taste testers" did not notice they had coffee in them until I mentioned it!

Red Currant Jelly

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2005
Very easy and straightforward. I increased the juice to 6 cups (that is what I had)and used 7.5 cups sugar, and 6 oz. of liquid pectin and it turned out wonderful. Thanks for the easy recipe, I was thankful it worked out so well after taking the time to pick all those currants!

Buckeyes I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2005
These turned out good...used 2 c. peanut butter and 4 c. confectioner sugar as recommended by previous readers and it turned out fine. Nice texture, almost fluffy. A little greasy for my taste, but the husband loved. Covered with white choc. as that is his favorite, a little hard to dip and hard to keep cool enough to prevent them melting into the chocolate while dipping...maybe needs something to firm them up a bit? Overall good!

Maple Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2005
These cookies turned out nicely for me and the maple taste is just right...not too overwhelming. I made the cookies a bit larger and increased cooking time to 15 minutes. Everybody in the family enjoyed them. Thanks!

Pecan Fondant Logs

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2005
This recipe is okay...the fondant dried out and it was next to impossible to get the nuts to stick. The confectioner's sugar taste was extremely sweet also. Not my favorite.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2005
Good recipe. I used huckleberry jam and substituted vanilla extract for the almond extract and they came out good! Only measurement discrepancy I found was I had to add an additional 1.5 teaspoons of milk to the glaze to make it thin enough to drizzle. Cookies impressed the in-laws ;)

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2005
These noodles tasted good, but were much more moist than other egg noodle recipes I have tried previously. Required a lot of extra flour to roll out. Once dried out and cooked though, they were very tasty.

Ham and Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2005
This recipe was well liked by my husband and father-in-law. I added some garlic, onion and parsley to the sauce and used homemade egg noodles. Quick to put together and easy.

Peanut Butter Cookies VI

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2005
When making these cookies, I followed recommendations of previous reviewers by adding 1/2 c. peanut butter and increasing flour to 1-1/2 cups. I also chilled for a bit and then shaped into balls and pressed w/fork before putting in the oven. Cooked for 10 minutes, and they came out good. Very easy and taste great!

Grocery Store Frosting

I thought this recipe was easy and has an absolutely accurate name! My husband loves grocery store cakes just because of their frosting-and was surprised to find I could make it at home! Thanks for this great frosting!
