Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
So easy and so tasty! Will definately make again. I did add a little "cake spice" to this, which is a mix of allspice, ginger, cinnamon, coriander, and nutmeg. Delicious! Update: I made this again using instant brown rice. I had to use 1 tsp cornstarch to help it thicken up, I am assuming because I used instant rice. I added extra cinnamon as well as raisins. It is my new favorite

American Chop Suey II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2013
Very quick and easy. I used about 1 1/2 cups of macaroni for mine. My boys loved it. I would definately make it again. I usually make goulash with diced tomatoes, and my youngest always makes me pick them out, but this he didn't complain about one bit. So I will use this recipe now instead of making it with canned tomatoes. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Banana Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
These were really good. I used 2 bananas, no lemon juice or walnuts. I didn't make the frosting. The bars are very sweet, and I don't think they need it.

Southern Butternut Squash

This was wonderful. I omitted the sugar and it was more than sweet enough, also ommitted the heavy cream. It was like custard. Yummy! This is definately a keeper.

Cherry Cream Crescents

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
I made this for my sons school picnic. However, instead of making indivisual crescents, I took one can of cresents and pressed it into the bottom of a 9x13 lightly greased pan. I then layered the cream cheese mix, cherry pie filling. I took the other can of cresents, flattened them out, cut them into strips, and placed them in a crisscross pattern over top. I brushed the egg whites over the top. I needed to cook it longer, about 25 minutes. I just kept checking on it. I cooled them, cut them in bars, and topped with powdered sugar. I put them in the fridge to chill. They turned out nicely.

Zesty Porcupine Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
I thought this recipe was wonderful. I didn't use chopped onions, I just added extra onion powder, seasoning salt, and 1 cup of cooked longgrain rice (I don't use instant). I also took the suggestion of adding some bread crumbs, I just dumped some in, I didn't measure them. I would probably add some more breadcrumbs however, becasue the meatballs were very soft, and when I went to stir the meatballs and sauce, the started to fall apart a little. I baked my meatballs as well. The meatballs were very tender, and I thought the sauce was wonderful. I didn't measure my Worscher. sauce, I just "eyeballed" it. Served with rice. Made a very "kid-friendly" meal. Definately a keeper.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
This was wonderful. I made mine in a bunt pan, and it came out perfect. I took the suggestions of 1/4 cup oil and 3/4 cup applesauce, and only 1 cup of sugar. My kids loved it. I made it for dessert last night, and it is almost gone already. I will definately use this again.

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

This was excellent. When I was cooking it, I tasted it and thought it was going to be too sweet, but when I put in on my rice and chicken, it was just right.

This recipe is great. It is a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. My husband does not like beans, so I don't add them, it is still great.

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
This was a great recipe. Very easy. I did drain the potatoes on a paper towel and wiped out the excess oil in the pan before adding the other ingredients. This cut down on the greasieness. It was very easy and something I will definately make again. I also added spices for flavoring.

This was very easy. The biscuits need something though, maybe butter drizzled and cinnamon sugar sprinkled on or something. Great warm from the oven.
