Lately I have been so busy... after all it is spring / summer and there are the mom / dad / Memorial days to be celebrated, along with that ... the gardening , the Spring cleaning and the numerous cookouts! Oh and we must not forget the week long visits
from the grandkids! ( by the way Damien and Molly are growing up so fast! Molly is walking and talking! Damien starts school in the fall... so this summer is gonna be special! School means... no week visits to Gramma and Grampa's during the school year, only
Spring break and Summer vaca's from now on!)
I was inspired to write this blog due to recent events... My Mother in Law, experienced a hip fracture... no that is not an inspiration... but what happened after a visit to check on our beloved Matriarch, was!
Jim and I are certainly home bodies, home cook enthusiast, and prefer the Ambiance of our back yard to the fanciest of Digs! After a long day of waiting room watching, during our Mom's surgery and the long awaited antics of the recovery room conversations
with aformentioned Matriarch...( you have to know the family to appreciate my Mother in laws Post surgery statements... she's a funny lady to begin with... but coming out of aneasthesia... you kinda , gotta , brace yourself and might want to prepare with a
pair of Depends!)
Yes... she did not dissapoint... but yet that is pages full for another delightful blog!
Tired and sides sore from laughing we are starved... Decision made on LongHorns Steak House! Yes we had a Gift card... but we woulda went there anyway!
This restaurant made us feel like we were at home... never had that feeling before .... I ordered the Prime Rib... Jim, the Bone in Ribeye... I spy the hostess walking toward me with "that look"! "" you know they are out of Prime rib.... Yep! I ordered
the small sirloin... after all... when you want prime rib why pay for a filet? Just won't taste as good!
I gotta tell you... that was the best friggen sirloin steak I have ever eaten! Hostess threw in a skewer of grilled shrimp! Who knew... I guess the food Gods wanted me to try the Sirloin.... I'm betting the Prime Rib would have been just as good, but
the smile on our servers faces of satisfying a prime rib expectation with a sirloin steak ... Priceless!
