Thanksgiving with my Family was wonderful! Remember the Mother In Law 101 blog? Well let me tell you how that all turned out!
We arrived at our son’s home at around 1:00... food in tow! My Daughter in Law and son met us at the door with huge hugs and smiles! The house was decorated in Thanks giving beauty! As we enter into the kitchen the smell was just heavenly and the sights were even better! This amazing wife of the boy... had an amazing array of appetizers, side dishes and two Turkeys ready for the fryer!

The dining room table was magnificent.... can this be her first hosted Thanksgiving? Yes .... Yes it is! My worries of over stepping my bounds as an over exuberant Mother in Law were definately laid to rest! Her menu met every aspect of a well planned Thanksgiving Feast! My additions were well recieved by both my boys as special gifts from Me and Jim, with them fondly remebering Thanksgivings of the past!

That being said... I am so proud of both my Daughter in Laws and of the two boys that chose them for their wives!

Terry, I was thinking of you on the big T-Day and was hoping all was turning out well at your son and DIL's! So glad to hear it. Your sons did a super job of choosing their spouses. And you know what they say..... a son chooses his wife modeled after his mother. :) They say that daughter's choose a husband like their father, too. In some ways that is true in our daughter's case, in many ways not true. Glad to hear you had a good day.

MA.. I really wish I could post pictures on my post as the words just can't do her skills justice! I am very proud of all the kids, we kept Damien and Molly for the week and the T-day just topped it all off! Molly turns one on Dec. 6th! More family fun!!!! My other DIL is throwing her a Candy Land theme party!!!! I can't wait!

I'm happy to hear the Big Day was such a success! You can rest easy and turn the "reins" over to the younger generation and get some well-deserved Grandma time, now...baking "goodies" for everyone.

Scootersandi ........ yep ,, the reigns have been passed ! Everything was just perfect and I as far as the baking goes... that is something the kids prefer I do! That and spoil those grands!

Hi Terry-sounds like everything went well. I use the free blogger from google. Since AR hasn't fixed the photo feature here. I started a google account for free and it is so easy to type what you want and load photos. I think the blogs are so much better with photos. ---

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
