If you don't know by now... you soon will... The fact is that I just adore Hotdogs!  No really... I love hotdogs!

When Jim and I were dating.. he asked to cook dinner for me, a man not short of culinary skills himself, he made offerings of Prime Rib, Chicken Picata or a multitude of other delights in his capabilities! My response... Hotdogs please!  Wasn't long after that ... he asked me to marry him! ( You think he presumed I was a Low Maintanence Type of Gal?)  Maybe so...and he woulda been right!

Don't get me wrong ... this girl can throw down some lobster and Prime Rib... and enjoy every minute of it... but give me a wiener in a bun and I'm in Hot Dog Heaven!

Jim and I, now an old married duo... still have date night.  One of my favorite things on date night is having Dinner in!  On several occasions that Dinner consists of a Hotdog Buffet!  We serve beef wieners, turkey wieners, and my absolutely favorite The Pink Wieners (I just felt my keyboard shudder as I typed those words,,,) Don't Judge! Our condiments are just about anything and everything you could possibly put on a dog!  My all time favorite is still, just a simple mayo, chilli, onion, and mustard... in that order!

Now in my 51 years I have probably eaten more dogs than most... now I'm not talking about those Gluttonous Hotdog eating competetors... it is trully a disrespect to the "All American hotdog" to be gulped down and smashed into the mouths of humans trying to win a contest... but that is another blog for another time!

Anyhoo.... back to the point of my blog...

A few weeks ago Jim and I had Datenight Hotdogs... We are trying to loose a few lbs. so we only made two a piece... Jim scarfed down his two packed and topped with his favorite condiments.... I fixed my two.... (see above for my toppings of choice)...I ate one... savoring every bite! I wrapped my other and placed it lovingly in the fridge!

Next morning... I couldn't wait to eat my other delicious dog... ( yes I eat Hotdogs for breakfast.. Don't you?)  I Open the big white keeper of all foods and guess what....
No Dog !!!! .... Lucky for Jim he left for work early...

SERIOUSLY DUDE...... YOU ATE MY DOG?

This is when I love technology... I busted my hotdog stealing hubby on  facebook and tagged him on the post... my repentent Hubby returned home from work with brown bag in hand, containing two Hotdogs!

I love hot dogs, but they do not love me! I still will throw caution to the winds and indulge in a NYC dirty water dog with kraut and mustard.

Too funny! On our first date a gang of us went out and everyone ordered hotdogs. How I remember is Hubby winked at me and my throat closed up. I never thought I'd ever get done chewing that dog!

LOL! Ever since my kids were small I had a rule about food in the fridge. If it was a take-out container from a restaurant the person wanting to eat it later put their name on it. If it was in a container (Tupperware) then you just put a sticky note on it. Anyone eating someone else's leftovers was in big doo-doo. I still write Mom on my take-out containers even though my dog, Suzy, can't read and it's Jon and I at home now! I think if Suzy could open the fridge she wouldn't bother with knowing how to read - she'd eat everything she could reach!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
