Having a garden this spring has been great! We planned and chose the veges we wanted to grow and thought we had sufficient to provide us with, I don't know about your grocery, but the produce section in mine is at least maintained at Thirty Below! I relished the thought of walking into my back yard, in the warmth of the sun and picking my produce.

I won't bore you with the details.... Nevermind I think I will...

We had 4 tomato plants, 1 straight neck squash, 1 crooked neck squash, 1 zuchinni, 1 jalepeno, 1 sweet banana pepper, 3 bell peppers, 2 cucumber plants, 1 watermelon, 1 cantelope 2 eggplants and just 1 pablano pepper plant.... Now all was fine... Until we thought our growing season and the reaping of all our bounty was complete.. And then our beloved Pablano Plant when stark raving crazy! Producing pepper after pepper! Seriously what is up with those plants?

Needless to say I have Pablano Peppers coming out the (arse) uh I mean ears! I've canned some with green tomatos and onions, I made salsa by the bowl fulls, I gave some away, eaten them raw with a good bowl of pinto beans but enough already!

After numerous Google searches for recipes, it seems to be that pablanos have a various plethera of goodies that can be stuffed inside! I chose chicken and rice with Jack Cheese served with a tomatillo sauce... Good thing I saved all those baby green tomatos before I pulled up their Mommies! Pablano Pepper Problem ... Solved!

FYI poblano peppers freeze very well. I just wash them off, dry well and pack in zip lock bags. They work better in cooked dishes since they lose their crunch but the flavor is still there.

OMGoodness... if I'd known it was that easy MA would have decreased my stress level over the multitude of pablanos! Next year my friend...next year! We are gonna have pablanos in the new freezer!

My two favorite chile peppers are Anaheims and Poblanos. I roast them and put them in chili and soups. They play real nice with pumpkin or butternut squash soup. I am so very envious of anyone who was able to garden this year.

It's been one of those weather years for gardens. Too hot, too cold, too dry then just right at the very end. I love my peppers and they are going great guns right now. I like to smoke some out on the grill and then freeze them. They add such flavor to a variety of dishes later on.

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
