I am on my own this season, as far as the cookie making goes. My angel Audrie has been on vacation all week. Damien is busy with a new baby sister!

On the cookie menu… Is peanut butter cookies, coconut macaroons, Traditional sugar cookies, Coconut fudge cups and Cocoa quickies. Not an easy undertaking, without my best buddy by my side.

I'm not used to baking alone, as all of you know I usually have, Damien and Audrie in thier honorary spot at my kitchen counter! I am looking so forward to teaching my new little angel, Molly to bake beside grandma! Damien and Audrie  have been baking with grandma for quite a few years now, I don't think that two weeks old is too early to start Molly out as my future baker! Do you?

We will be heading up to Anderson, South Carolina to visit Damien and our new granddaughter ,Molly, for Christmas eve ... Gramma with cookies in tow!  Not to mention a Thomas the Train toy for Damien ! Three guesses which will be his fav!

If you guessed my cookies... You would be soooo close... But wrong !

Merry Early Christmas!

Awww... Damien looks like quite the proud big brother!! I'll bet your cookie baking is kind of quiet, huh? I have always had help with certain kinds of cookies I make - especially sugar cut-out cookies. Last year I had my 22 year old son, 26 year old daughter and our 3 "adopted Mexican Grandkids" help me. It was so much fun we did a repeat this year - except my son now lives 1,400 miles a way so he was not there. Each kiddo made & decorated a "special" cookie for Steve that I packed in his cookie box and sent to him. He'll have no trouble figuring out which kiddo made which cookie. LOL Merry Christmas, Terry!

MA, Steve is gonna love each and everyone! Just curious... How many of Mom's tears ended up in those boxed cookies? Merry Christmas Dear Friend!

Terry - I tried to keep the tears away from the cookie box! LOL I had told him I was packing up cookies for him and he was quite excited to hear that. He was glad that even though he wouldn't be coming home he'd still get his favorite cookies; made me feel good.

That's what Christmas is all about!

My grandma always loved having help with Christmas cookies. We made ginger snaps, spritz, sandbakkels, and Krumkake. Sometimes we'd make Butterscotch cookies with burnt butter icing as well. I have not done a good job of passing this tradition down to my daughters. I think that better change this year. Thank you for a really touching post!

I'm not allowed to bake cookies or bread, the exclusive territories of Mrs. Mike. I am shocked to see Damien so big. It seems only a short few months since he was a little bundle! ... How is Jim's replacement doing? ... Merry Christmas Tripp family!

Merry Christmas Mike! Damien is a little man now and a great big brother! Jim's knee is now pain free, but his mobility is lacking! Overall we call it a success! Thanks for asking! It will be a year ago on the 28th of December!

Hello Terry. This year, it seems that I baked most of the Christmas goodies by myself. My daughter and future daughter-in-law are working two jobs to make ends meet. My little helper, Tori (4 year old grand daughter) will be over tomorrow to decorate sugar cookies. Merry Christmas to you and Jim. Also, don't forget to do some extra spoiling while you with Molly and Damien.

Lela, so glad I'm in good company... I am borrowing my little 5 year old neighbor , Ethan , to do the sugar cookies! Merry Christmas to you!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
