If you follow my blog... you might know I love my little ones!  Audrie and AJ, my two little charges that I keep during the week and my precious grandson, Damien!  You may also know all three of these awesome kids... love spending time in the kitchen!

Well AJ is off to Florida to spend time with his grandparents... and Damien will be coming for a week long visit with me and Jim.. aka... Gramma and Grampa.. on sunday. This leaves me and Audrie for the rest of this week!  We miss the boys ... but we sure do love our girl time!

Well the sun is finally shining... after days and days of continuous rain!   We decide to get out of the kitchen and into the garden!

With all the rain there is tons of weeding, prunning of the ground cover and most of all just stop and smell the roses!

Last weekend Audrie's mom and I took her to Wingard's Nursery for a fairy princess party.  Here Audrie got to see huge private gardens of the owners, she got to meet a real life fairy princess and learned how to make her very own fairy princess garden!

Since this event... she has been my little outside helper... She loves the flowers and we have finally learned... we only pick the ugly, dead ones and not the pretty ones!   Now we still love our time in the kitchen .... but it never hurts to Get Em' In The Garden too!

What an adorable little princess you have there. I used to garden with my grandmother Maggie and I still love to dig in the dirt though I now live in the desert :)

Boy are they ever lucky to have you to do such fun stuff with. The yard looks amazing. Have fun. The grands and I are going to make freezer jam this weekend.

Mauigirl... I Love to cook and garden... I wish more kids got excited about them... My kids would rather cook or garden, than watch cartoons! You still can have container gardens in the desert! Get those hands dirty!

Hi CG! Thanks for the compliment... but with all the rain it almost got away from me! Couldn't have gotten it back in shape without my little angel! I would love to learn how to make freezer jam ... can I come?

You are a gem of a childcarer! You obviously love Audrie and AJ and are making their childhood special. Too many people who take care of other's children park them in front of the TV and call it good. These children will grow up with imaginations and fun memories. Great job Terry!

Aww BSM... I missed out on being able to care for my children at home... they went to daycare. I missed out on so much of thier lives... now that I am afforded the opportunity to be here for other parents... at way less money than daycare centers and tons more love... I think I'm the one that is benefiting as well as the kids!

Terry, I love the fairy princess garden. Sounds like Audrie loved the fun experience at the nursery, too.

Thanks Lela! We bought just a few pieces at the nursery... then we went to the woods to find the moss and the little wild flower! We both had fun! Audrie also got a little teracotta teapot to paint and a petunia to plant in it!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
