Chili... Cheese... ?

Tonight like most nights Jim found some major bargains at the grocers!  Hamburger patties, premade and stuffed with cheddar cheese!  Now the price on these beauties were three dollars and fifty - six cents for two... 1/3 pound burgers!  Dated for tommorrow... so they had a 3.00 off sticker... yep!  That's right... fifty six cents... is what dinner cost!

Well last night we had some... Hot Dogs... and I had made some onion rings!  Blame it on AR with the onion ring video.  I beer battered a large vidallia onion... we had more rings that would have fed a family of ten!   Needless to say we had a few left over!

Along with the left over rings... we also had some chili and some sharp, shredded, cheddar!

Side dish tonight.... Chili cheese onion rings!!!!!!!!!

The burgers were cooked high and fast... a tasty char on the outside and juicy tender on the in!  Jim is my hero on the grill!  But Gramma's got it going on in the kitchen!  Try the onion ring version of chili cheese fries!

Happy Spring time and Happy Grillin' !

Terry-you are making me hungry. I love vidalia onion rings.

mmmm, burgers and rings. Sounds like a great supper. I laugh when some people cringe when I dig out the deep fryer for homemade fries or rings. They talk of hardening arteries, etc. Same people eat fast food fries on occasion, so it makes me wonder what is the difference?

RNG... Now that they post all the calories and fat grams on the fast food places... at home I don't see them posted anywhere! One good reason to not eat fast food!!!! lol!

LOL, good point Terry and if you stand up while you eat in a purple shirt on Tuesday-then there are not calories. I have proclaimed Tuesday as calorie free day. No matter what I eat on Tuesdays it goes to another woman's hips, not mine!

Curse you RNG!! NOW i know why my pants are tight every Tuesday!

Can Jim come shop for me? I never find baragins like that. Personally, I don't deep fry any more, but it is more because it is too much trouble to clean up for just one or two to eat. But homemade deep fried anything with no additives or chemicals.....oh yum!

BSM... He's all mine! It's so fun everytime he make a great buy... he lays the items on the table... one by one... Then I get the "Guess What a deal I got on these" grin! Then he lays the reciept next to his finds! It doesn't take much to make him happy!

"Jim always said, if you want something done efficiently and quickly ... just ask the laziest person on the job!" Now I know Jim is not the laziest person but he does get the shopping done efficiently. Chili cheese onion rings are a good idea...thanks!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
