What Did You Do This Weekend?

Let's see... what did you do this weekend?  I didn't do my usual deep cleaning...of the house.  I didn't cook very many meals!  I did take a walk.... and a few other fun things!

On friday... Audrie and I made a cake... I said I didn't cook meals... baking is a must most weekends!

On Saturday... I found peppermint petunias!  I haven't been able to find them for three years.  This find meant I had to rearrange a few items in my gardens!  Not that I mind... Jim says I move flowers around the yard like I rearrange furniture in the house!

Getting the yard to my satisfaction... I noticed my sad little buddy, Roger the gnome, in the front garden... Time for a little make over.... once back in the garden... the bird was beckoning me for a little attention too!  I let Jim join in the fun.... He did a great job on the bird... I love the blue!

Sunday was shared with my Jim , watching baseball... napping and a few good movies!

We had a great productive weekend.... I love the fun parts of this time of year!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! I'd love a slice of that cake! And both Roger and bird look lovely. I have a white goose, Marge, in my garden that needs not only some touching up but some repair work - her neck is cracked and almost ready to fall apart.

Hi MA! It was one of those... so what I want to do weekends! I need those every now and then! The house is none the worse for wear... It'll get done when it gets done! Oh that poor goose... Marge probably would appreciate the fix!

I miss having a garden to putter around in. I have my terrace "garden" but it isn't the same. Enjoy it again for me!

Terry-what a great weekend. I have to say-we have some cold weather here in Colorado. I am waiting until next week to start planting flowers. If we put them out to early, then they freeze. Audrie is so cute and always wanting to help Oma!

Well happy spring planting to you Lela! Audrie loves to putter around the kitchen with me... she is going to be one heck of a cook!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
