Yep... the grandson is back in town!  So I ask Damien what do you want to cook for breakfast today?  With a quizical, sideways, sly grin on his face.... his reply.." pine-cakes!"........  " Pine Cakes for Grampa "

He scoots his chair from the dining room table to his designated spot at the counter, climbs into the chair and he asks for "plower"!  I love this kid!  He is quite the natural and has somehow turned into quite the camara hound.. ( I wonder how that could have happened? )

Here is our morning in the kitchen... ( Don't worry NoNo's... That is turkey bacon on that griddle!)  Grampa loved his breakfast by Damien! ... and Damien just loves his Grampa!

That is one cutie for sure! I just love little boys. Jim looks so much better, not as drawn. And why not? Those kids are better than most medicines.

Your grandson is absolutely adorable! I have a huge soft spot in my heart for cute little darlings like that! And, I agree with BSM above - Jim is looking better!

BSM, Jim is looking better, He's not used to being around all the kids for such long periods of time... but he is worn out and really enjoying at the same time! Gonna have all three tomorrow! AJ, Audrie and Damien!

He looks like a lover. Wish I had a hug. I am just crazy about little boys, in a proper way. Points for you on the turkey bacon, I hate the stuff, that's probably why you are out no-noing me . I am still stuck at 3-4 lbs.

Pinecakes! One of the first things my granddaughters learned to cook by me! One called then "pawncakes" and the other called them "pan". Whatever happens to the words and definitions our children taught us?

Carol, The bacon is better on the griddle than any other way! If you soak it in the syrup reaallly good... it's even better! lol! Damien gives the best hugs in the world! That is really not too big of an exageration... If any one else can hug any better... I sure would like to meet them!

Mike, come to think of it I think that is the first thing I learned from my Mom! Damien always asks for the plower... no matter what we are making! Pinecakes are his favorite food to make for Grampa!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
