Jim is having a booger of time with this New Knee... Went to the doctor today and guess what he said?...  The exact same thing that all you dear people have been saying!  I hate seeing him in pain but I'm sticking to my guns... This too shall pass!

But at least I feel Okay.... Right?  My goodness that sounded so bad.... bad Terry, Bad Terry!  I just reread this post, and had a little change of heart!  Jim is heading in the right direction... I was tryin to divert mine to myself.... sorry my friends!

I along with a few of my fellow bloggers have started on a negetivity quest... Now it 's not at all what it sounds like!  You see we are all taking an approach to weight loss that Covergirl explains in her blog!  Check it out!  Essentially we are counting the negative calories that we did not have in a given meal or day... My goal is to not eat that 500 cals. that I would normally eat... ie:  instead of  two slices of pizza and two glasses of wine... I eat one slice and have just one glass of wine!

Get the idea... I've dropped 5 lbs. allready... now I know that's a lot of water weight... but I'm being a little negative regaurding my salt intake also!

It has been so much fun doing it with AR buddies!

Thanks for all the support with Jim... we have quite the long and painful road ahead of us!  This too shall /will pass with the support we have recieved!

"This too shall pass!" Sort of like kidney stones. Painful at the time!

I'm guessing you have also positively upped your activity level and are burning additional calories. I've only lost 2 pounds, but I am sure if I take a diuretic (which I'm supposed to do, but I hate some of the side effects) I'd lose another few. I can't decide which one of you I commiserate with more, but I'm leaning towards you. Just keep reminding him what childbirth is like - LOL! Feel better Jim!

2 lbs is 2 lbs! Atta girl BSM! I've cut the salt in Jim's food also... he's lost quite a few lbs. but I'm sure it's the surgery! I'm pleased to announce he's actully enjoy the changes I'm making!

WTG, BSM! Woohoo for all! Terry, maybe by the time Jim feels better, he'll be so used to eating healthier that he'll think he's always eaten that way. :)

Just tell Jim if my 80 year old mother could get through it, he will too. In the meantime, he can do a little "kneedlepoint" to pass the time.

I remember how unbelievably painful it was to rehab my knee after the replacement. It DOES get better, and eventually it WILL be hard to remember the pain...did he do both at the same time?? That would be a lot tougher. Not sure I am that tough. Tell him screaming helps. :)

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
