Let's start from the begining... Three meals:

Monday - Corned beef and cabbage  http://allrecipes.com/recipe/corned-beef-and-cabbage-2/detail.aspx<
Tuesday - Jim's pork and saurkraut http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63012539/jims-pork-and-saurkraut/detail.aspx<
Wednesday - Mike Harvey's... not thousand island dressing  http://allrecipes.com/personalrecipe/63013298/not-thousand-island-dressing/detail.aspx<    ( mike is now my new hero)

... and Terry's homemade Reubens!

Stacking of the sandwich as follows...

slice of pumpernickle - rye
mikes sauce
swiss cheese
corned beef
saurkraut
swiss cheese
mikes sauce
pump / rye

Melt one tbs of butter and brush on one side of sandwich... place on heated griddle.
brush the other side with the melted butter... cook until golden brown, then flip... you know the drill.  ( I use my NuWave... 4 min. Flip then 4 min more )

I gotta tell you.... These are the best Reubens to date... hands down!  Now... not to brag...( cause Jim is sitting right here beside me)... but " I think he's kinda agreeing"  Haven't heard a word other than yummmmmmm...... since he took his first bite!

Thanks for letting me share a Tripp family tradition... and not a too shabby one, give it a try!

The plate says it all!  Happy holidays!  Merry Reubens to all and to all a good night!

I just saved the sauce recipe. I'm thinking of using it on other stuff besides your beautiful looking reubens! Be still my stomach!

Dog, we put it on the sandwiches and dipped them in it... some serious good stuff! The potato chips tasted yummy in the sauce also!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
