We have our family christmas, the weekend before Christmas... so that individual Families can be together, on Christmas Eve and Christmas day!
This happy event happens at my sister Janets' house... because it is the biggest... One of the reasons Jim and I downsized! LOL... hope she's not reading the old blog today... Well anyhoo...
In years past it is interesting how things have changed with age. That includes all of our culinary interest and ambitions.
Not too many years ago... when I would ask my sisters ( there's four of us total, with me being the baby) what can I bring to the shindig... their response was, almost always, plate's napkins, sodas and chips! I was not offended by this at all... for back then
my interests were more toward fast food and frozen banquet chicken!
This year without hesistation when the question was just barely out of my mouth... came the response... desserts ( Did anyone else notice the "s" on the end of that D word?)
I accept the challenge!
For the past few weeks, as to not overwhelm myself or tempt the hubby too much, I have been baking ... letting Jim and the neighbors feast on half and freezing the other half! With the freezer getting fuller, this is my Dessert spread for the Family.....
Cream cheese pound cake
Carrot cake
Chocolate pound cake
Chocolate cream pie
Coconut cream pie
Pumpkin pie ( actually Jim makes a better pumpkin pie than I do... so he's got this one!
Cake balls dipped in white candy
Danish shortbread cookies
Chocolate brownies
There that should just about do it... So do you think I added enough chocolate desserts?
I love Christmas... Here's wishing you all a great holiday! ( I know it's still nov. but I really do love Christmas!!!! )
