Yep!  The title pretty much sums it up!  Jim and I had a rare day off together.  We started our morning ,waking and talking... yes, I said talking!

Breakfast out... IHOP ... an unexpected treat... but an inspiration for the remainder of our day. ( a good meal that inspires a day, must be concluded with an inspiring date night experience!)

After breakfast a little window shopping. (Bed ensemble @ 50 percent off... No longer window shopping!)

A quick trip to BiLo without a shopping list... after all, it is date night.

First find... Brie... By one get one free!  Next epic find... Frozen precooked whole lobsters ( meet Frick and Frack)

Lobster was dusted with old bay seasoning and steamed for 7 min.

8 ounces of brie was nuked 1 min then covered with bruscehetta... nuked 1 more min,... served over...

Sour dough loaf, sliced thin, rubbed with garlic and broiled, completes this heavenly combination of a sinfull experience of really great, friggin food!

Bailey and Maxie thought we said Cat night.. not date night!  Oh well there is still saturday... right?

After all these years... I still love Date Night !

sounds wonderful, so nice to hear of a long-standing couple who still like each other and enjoy being together. I just noticed the pic. of your cat Bailey I believe, I think I have his/her twin Ziggy. I will try to upload a pic. of him to my blog space so you can see, really even the markings on his side look the same.

What a great day! We had a sort of date night last night, too. But, we went out to eat using one of the gift cards we received at our surprise anniversary party. We talked about how it was about time to have lobsters at home - it's been a while! Love your cats!

I can't let BigShot or Lulu see these pictures or they will be convinced I've lied all these years and they ARE allowed on the dining table. Looks like an absolute feast for date night!

Love your date night. I try to keep a case of lobster tails in the freezer for our date nights. It always seem so decadent to eat lobster with butter dripping. YUM! One lobster night, we had just acquired a stray kitten.I had just set the table and the lobsters with butter dishes were on the table. While I opened a bottle of chenin blanc, the cat landed square in the middle of our romantic dinner. She def used up one or two of her nine lives :) We had to put her down before we moved off Maui at a very old ripe age. I miss her still.

Terry, what a wonderful meal you must have had! Date night here would consist of a meal WITH a cat and a dog!lol! Lobster might be too rich for the dogs, tho...

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
