Blogging... A Healthy Habit ?

I've noticed that when I am not blogging on a regular basis, I feel less productive or less energetic... Is it just me or do my fellow word jockeys feel the same way?

I check the AR blog post several times during my day.. when I am afforded the time... as I keep a two year old Angel and have now a three year old under my charge.  I feel like I am apart of something bigger than my small life.

I feel that I have a responsibility to listen and read all posts, whether I respond or not, because you all have taken the time to share your words with me.  I think in a way it is a very pure way of communicating with your peers,  We are not of one neighborhood and we weren't born of family... but " boy" do I ever think of you all as Neighbors and Family!

I hope you all feel the same... Happier and Healthier because of sharing through our Blogs!  By the way I'm thinkin' someone could have come up with a little better name for this process....  Got any thoughts?

Thanks again my AR friends and AR family for affording me this needed healthy habit!

I enjoy reading everyone's blogs. I don't always respond, but I read just about every one that is posted here. And, yes, I think a better name could have been thought up for this process! LOL

How well said. "We are not of one neighborhood and we weren't born of family... but " boy" do I ever think of you all as Neighbors and Family!" I have also thought of a better name and I think "Community" sums it up = A group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society.

You are so right. My thoughts exactly, You inspired me so much today that I converted my membership to supporting so I could generate a blog and did just that this morning. Thanks for the inspiration.

Covergirl, I can't wait to read your blog! Have fun and I'm serious, blogging seems to make me happier and healthier!

Yes blogging is a very good thing. Even though we are many miles away the communication is so happy for me. Not just me. The stories that people share here of their experiences and lives are shared via word of mouth (yup I talk a lot) with friends and family. Go community!!! It's a good one. Go Terry and go covergirl.

Hi Terry. I too feel obliged to read each blog, although I don't comment on many of them. I think of this whole group and the Buzz as one large, bustling kitchen, where a lot of different food gets cooked and the cooks share themselves as they would in person and I am grateful for the new things I have learned and the great people I have encountered.

I felt very isolated after our move to Colorado, and this site has reinvigorated my desire to interact with people. :) That sounds awful, but sometimes you need a predetermined common avenue (like cooking) as that extra push to make new friends. I'm loving it here, and am encouraged to know that other people read the blogs like I do, even if they don't comment :)

BSM, That is such a nice analogy! I love it... Could you imagine all of us in one kitchen? lol... Chatter, laughter, chatter, followed by some good chow!!!

Hillary, that is a great story... you kind of summed up my blog in just a few words! Thanks so much for reading!!!!

About Me
I was a working mother of 2 boys! I didn't have much time for cooking... now that the boys are grown and on their own... I have been enjoying learning and appreciating the art of cooking. I started with a day of baking with my mother in law and I was hooked! Not to mention my new stepkids... what was two... now is four! Our family is growing we now have a grandson, Damien, and one on the way! My grandson loves his visits with Gramma and Grampa...We spend quality time in the kitchen snd chronical our visits here on AR!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! It is my therapy...I love to buy and read all types of recipe books ( call me old fashion ) but it's fun to pick out 1 recipe in a new book and try it the day I get the book!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband and I have great times cooking meals together! When the kids come to visit we let them request their menu of choice. Funny twist... my two boys request Jim's culinary feasts... Jim's two request Stepmom's dinner delights! Works out fine at the end of the day!
My cooking triumphs
Check out my pics, the wedding cake? It was my 1st attempt at a wedding cake... can you believe it... I still can't!
My cooking tragedies
so many... hard to pick just one! but isn't that the joy of cooking?
